Tokio Hotel Video Interview – with translation

I adore the people who take the time to translate these for us. The only words I understood were Fast Food, Pizza, Spaghetti, Sirloin Burger… and maybe a few others. :) Apparently, the interviewers name is Gülcan. She is the one with the BIG GREEN FLOWER. But she is not the prettiest one.

Gülcan: Oh, how pretty. There are camera’s flashing from all around the red carpet already, and of course many are waiting very exited for Tokio Hotel. And I’ll tell you a secret; they’ll give me an interview in a couple of minutes! But first I’ve got to find them of course, so follow me!

R: Gülcan is looking for the boys; some people have told her that they’ll appear on stage in a minute and they’re already there. Tokio Hotel receives from the Bavarian province the Pop Music Lion for the Best Newcomer Band. Proudly they present their prize. Congratulations, also from Bravo TV. Now is the moment to keep very close to the boys. After all; they’ve promised Gülcan an exclusive interview, but first she has to find the boys, and they’re certainly not making it easy. But Gülcan keeps looking. Gotcha! Gülchan has found the four boys and can barely wait till the moment she can ask the question people have been discussing about the most. Is Gustav really leaving the band? What is true about the split-up rumours?

Gülcan: Found them!

The girls are very well informed again, for a while now they have been very exited, also very confused. The young man here sitting at my erm… right or… Well there! Him!

[All laugh]

He was leaving, at least so they said. But you say it’s total nonsense, hm? Okay, you’re still part of the band.

Gustav: Yes, I’m still part of it, otherwise we shouldn’t be sitting here with the four of us.

Gülcan: But how come? I mean, why did people think this, somewhere there must be… There’s always a reason.

Tom: Now we’re working on the production, we withdraw us a bit more from the public. We’re kind of locked up and work on the new album. And then it’s understandable that the press and other people just have to find something so there’s something like a concluding thing. And when something ends I think that a split up is a good way (not sure), [all laugh] and so did they so they just spread the “news”. No idea why they really thought that.

Gülcan: Okay, it just came out of the blue. Something else; I’ve heard something very weird from Bushido (German rapper), He is a big fan of yours and he said that he thinks you’re “Pretty erotic”. What do you say to that? That Bushido says, “Hey, Bill is horny, isn’t he?”

Bill: Erm…

Gülcan: A bit shocked?

Bill: Yes, I’m very surprised, but when he thinks so… that’s nice [Laughs]

Gülcan: And the other way around? Do you like his look?

Bill: Erm well, I’ve never really been into Bushido. No Idea, I’ve seen him once now I suppose. That was at the Echo Awards, wasn’t it? [Others mumbling yes] Okay, but we haven’t talked much, I’ll see.

R: And now it’s their turn. Fans have sent questions to Gülcan, with what they’d always want to know about or from Tokio Hotel.

Gülcan: And I’ve taken some of them and you can answer them now. Maaike B. from Hameln asked me: Do you even take female fans with you in your hotel room? You’ve already said yes to that some times, haven’t you?

Georg (in the background): Oh, sometimes

Tom: Female fans, Georg? [Laughs]

Gülcan: Or male then? [Laughs]

Tom: Well, yes, that can happen of course. We’re only human too.

Gülcan: That happens once or twice, not always of course.

Tom: Of course.

Gülcan: Does it make you happy when fans make something for you (she means like handicraft), and what is the best fan-present you’ve ever had? I know you get really really much and that people make you very much, but do you remember something that you really liked?

Bill: Well, I always like it when people record songs and send it so we can listen to it, or just make a videotape or something. Because I like to know whom I’m dealing with, that’s always very good.

Gülcan: What do you eat, now you’re travelling so much and have so little time? Fast food or healthy stuff?

Tom: Much fast food, but I also try to eat salad or something now and then.

Bill: I often eat salad… with the burger.

Gülcan: With the burger?! [Laughs] but you don’t see it at all…

Bill: No indeed, that’s my luck. But there’s just little time, so pizza, spaghetti, burgers…

Gülcan: Still? Aren’t you totally sick of all the fast food yet?

Gustav: Well, he can just eat whatever he likes, but in my case you easily see it when I eat too much, so I’m a bit on a salad-diet at the moment [he’s kidding]

Gülcan: Aw no, you poor hamster! But they don’t tease you for being a bit chubby, do they?

Bill: [Laughs]

Tom: Aw, he isn’t chubby yet…
