Sara: It was spring 2006 and I was very bored, I looked around on internet and it was that time, before it was forbidden to download music, so I did it. And then I found, I looked at some random, and saw a name that cought my attention, and it was “Tokio Hotel” with an “i” and I thought: “Who are those idiots who can’t spell ‘Tokyo’?” and I had to click on it, and I downloaded it, it was “Durch den Monsun”, I had no idea what language it was, I had no idea who had made it, I didn’t knew if the singer was a boy or a girl because Bill hadn’t gone through the voice-breaking yet. And I downloaded it and it was love at first sight. I had never felt that way for a song before, it was like it [the feeling] was filling me up.
I was like: “Oh God, this is the best I’ve heard”.

Emmla: I have two german books that I have got from friends who have studied german. One grammarbook and one textbook. And then I have one dictionary which I’ve got from my mothers man , he studied german for 20 years ago, so it is a bit old but it works. You like, snatch up words…

Sara: Exactly and you memories things that you hear, things like they say like swearwords. I swear almost always on german.

Emmla: I always say “Scheisse!”.

Sara: Me too. And I have a textmessage tone where Bill say “Scheisse!” =D
So it have become a word that you use a lot.

Emmla: It becomes like you use to put in words [when you talk] like: “Peinlich”.

Sara: Yes, and “Genau, Das ist gelogen” and simple words like “I agree, it’s not right”, yeah like words like those.
There are so many, but I like “Wenn nicht mehr geht ich bin ein engel sein für dich allein” – “When it no longer work I will be an angel only for you”. And it is a really old song. And it is so beautiful. So, just like that.

Emmla: I like “ich bin da, wenn du willst”- “I am here when you want/when you need me”. I mean, it is so a simple message but still so beautiful.

Sara: If you had asked me for 4 or 5 years ago what place I never would have long for to go to, because you have places you would like to go to and where you feel you want to see, I would have answered “Germany”. Because the language is ugly and I don’t feel that I have something in common with the country or that I have no attraction there. But that changed of course when you like the language and like, get to know about the people there.

Emmla: And then, for me, my interest have extended. I have become interested in the history of Germany. At the 3rd grade in high school I wrote my project work about the Berlin wall. Like, one thing lead to another thing, you maybe get interested: “Oh the guys grew up in the eastern Germany, how was that?” and then you get interested to learn more about it and so, like, one thing lead to another.

Sara: We came here half past seven [this morning] though we couldn’t get in line until seven, so we had to walk around a while but then we could get in the queue.
I don’t think I would do this over again tomorrow, but, I haven’t been to the Tokio Hotel concert yet, but I know I would do it again, maybe not tomorrow though.

Emmla: Another time.

Sara: Right. =D And I haven’t been to the concert yet so it will be really good.

Emmla: They performed one song in german: Humanoid. And it was so good. And the best part was that all the fans sang along, everybody even though it was in german. It is at that time you feel that: “Yeah, if something would happen now, I would die happy”. =D

Hello! First of all, congrats Gustav, it’s your birthday today!
Gustav: Thank you! Though I haven’t celebrated it at all, it’s only been interviews whole day. But I don’t complain. Or yeah, I complain a little.

I heard that you, Tom and Bill, celebrated your birthday recently in a very nice way!

Tom: Yes, we rented an amusement park for ourselves and our friends. It was awesome! We could go on every ride as much as we wanted and didn’t had to get in line. It was a dream come true. Crazy!

If there was an attraction on the amusement park with the name Tokio Hotel, how would it be?

Bill: It would be the fastest ride you experienced. It would go straight forward like a freeday really long, then suddenly spinn up, up, up til you were in the sky. Then it would stand still for a while til you suddenly will fall straight down to the ground really fast!

What’s the most illegal you’ve done in a hotel room?

Tom: There are very many illegal things we’ve done as we can’t say here. But we’ve trashed some things here and there. One time we went really fast on little bikes in the hotel corridors. The hotel staff nor the guests didn’t like that so much…

Bill: At a hotel in Germany we trashed so much things so we aren’t welcome back to that city anymore and play, haha!

What’s the most idiotic you did as children?

Georg: I throw a rock through a window at a Mercedes. But it was by accident. It was actually meant to hit a friend in the head.

Tom: When we were about 6 Bill and I went to a cliff where people jumped bungy jumping. But we had no safety lines or anything. So we stood there and looked. If a gust of wind had came we could probably fell down but we were little and didn’t understood it then.

From one thing to another! What’s the color of your underwear today?

Tom: Black.
Bill: Black.
Gustav: Blue and white-striped.
Georg: Black. It doesn’t show when black underwear gets dirty! And the you can turn them inside out when you’ve had them for a while.

Would you ever pose naked for a magazine?

Tom: I mean, I’m so good looking and there is already so much focus on my body…

Gustav: …eh?

Tom: … so I think it’s enough. We should probably not have more attention to my nice body now. It’s for the groups best.

Tell us about your first kiss!

Georg: [thinking]

Tom: Wasn’t that the kiss you got from me yesterday?

Georg: Haha, no. I don’t really remember the first one…

Tom: My first kiss was from the same girl as Bill got his first kiss from. It was a girl I was together with, and then Bill got together with her a month after we broke up. He usually takes my girls after me.

Bill: The first kiss is never good. It gets very wet and strange.

How should a normal Swedish girl do to get your attention?
Georg: Pull her shirt up!

Bill: They could color their hair in some crazy color and maybe have a big sign at our concerts. And learn German maybe. A good phrase is “Du hast so schöne augen”. It means “You have beautiful eyes!”
