Tokio Hotel on Eurovision

March 11, 2010

One of the cutest videos in a while. Aftonbladet from Sweden asked the band what they think about some of the Eurovision contestants. “The German band Tokio Hotel, the emo-pop band who has become a phenomenon worldwide with a gigantic and devoted fanbase are in Sweden. Before their concert at The Globe, Aftonbladet distracted the boys by talking about the Eurovision Song Contest (the swedish eurovision song contest have been goin on for the last few weeks and they show the boys some of the contestants) (thank you to Coolbreezegirl for the translation of the beginning bit)

Forbidden things and Bill’s Duck

November 1, 2009

Magazine interview from issue #11 of the Swedish Magazine Okej! Scans are below the translation, which was proved by EEELIINA! Thank you. The interview was done in September, as you will know by the first bits!

Hello! First of all, congrats Gustav, it’s your birthday today!
Gustav: Thank you! Though I haven’t celebrated it at all, it’s only been interviews whole day. But I don’t complain. Or yeah, I complain a little.

I heard that you, Tom and Bill, celebrated your birthday recently in a very nice way!

Tom: Yes, we rented an amusement park for ourselves and our friends. It was awesome! We could go on every ride as much as we wanted and didn’t had to get in line. It was a dream come true. Crazy!

If there was an attraction on the amusement park with the name Tokio Hotel, how would it be?

Bill: It would be the fastest ride you experienced. It would go straight forward like a freeday really long, then suddenly spinn up, up, up til you were in the sky. Then it would stand still for a while til you suddenly will fall straight down to the ground really fast!

What’s the most illegal you’ve done in a hotel room?

Tom: There are very many illegal things we’ve done as we can’t say here. But we’ve trashed some things here and there. One time we went really fast on little bikes in the hotel corridors. The hotel staff nor the guests didn’t like that so much…

Bill: At a hotel in Germany we trashed so much things so we aren’t welcome back to that city anymore and play, haha!

What’s the most idiotic you did as children?

Georg: I throw a rock through a window at a Mercedes. But it was by accident. It was actually meant to hit a friend in the head.

Tom: When we were about 6 Bill and I went to a cliff where people jumped bungy jumping. But we had no safety lines or anything. So we stood there and looked. If a gust of wind had came we could probably fell down but we were little and didn’t understood it then.

From one thing to another! What’s the color of your underwear today?

Tom: Black.
Bill: Black.
Gustav: Blue and white-striped.
Georg: Black. It doesn’t show when black underwear gets dirty! And the you can turn them inside out when you’ve had them for a while.

Would you ever pose naked for a magazine?

Tom: I mean, I’m so good looking and there is already so much focus on my body…

Gustav: …eh?

Tom: … so I think it’s enough. We should probably not have more attention to my nice body now. It’s for the groups best.

Tell us about your first kiss!

Georg: [thinking]

Tom: Wasn’t that the kiss you got from me yesterday?

Georg: Haha, no. I don’t really remember the first one…

Tom: My first kiss was from the same girl as Bill got his first kiss from. It was a girl I was together with, and then Bill got together with her a month after we broke up. He usually takes my girls after me.

Bill: The first kiss is never good. It gets very wet and strange.

How should a normal Swedish girl do to get your attention?
Georg: Pull her shirt up!

Bill: They could color their hair in some crazy color and maybe have a big sign at our concerts. And learn German maybe. A good phrase is “Du hast so schöne augen”. It means “You have beautiful eyes!”

Tokio Hotel’s dreamgirl!

Face and legs: Jessica Alba.
Hair: Ashley Olsen.
Nose: Mary-Kate Olsen.
Butt: Jennifer Lopez.
Boobs: Pamela Anderson.
Feets: Angelina Jolie.

Draw a duck, please!

Bill Kaulitz draw a duck and we asked a graphologist to say who Bill is inside!
“There is a lot that spins in the head at this person. Many simple and obvious things. He has many amusing incidents and ideas – but the question is if he managed to achieve everything he wants to do? But despite the weirdness it’s a person standing with both feet on the ground.”

DJ’s sang happy birthday to Gustav!!!!!!!!!

One of the band said “Hey Sexy” in a really high silly voice.

DJ says fans are screaming outside and that there are 500 fans outside and completely crazy

Maria is the winner, she will meet the band later, Bill would not do the say “Hey Sexy” thing. (good job Bill!)

They phoned a winner on the phone and Bill is talking to her, crying and screaming from the girl

Bil didn’t want to say “hey Sexy” apparently with his most sexiest voice.

They want Bill to now say “Hey sexy” with his sexiest voice.

Fan question: What kind of girls do you like, what are you pick up lines, blah blah. Same stuff.

Tom is reading Slitz, “nude magazine”

Fans submitted almost 500 questions.

Album wa sproduced during one year, we took our time, they are excited to see what fans think. For the most part they worked with their 4 producers but have recorded in USA and Germany

Bill says he loves that there are no speedlimits on some of the german autobahns in certain locations.

They say that Gustav lost his driving license. LOL

Haha it sounded like Hakim almost called them Coldplay. They talk about driving, about how you can drive really fast in Germany in some places. They talk about our king who don’t get caught while driving to fast. TH invite them to the autobahn. They talk about Gustav’s car accident and how he lost his license

Translation

Hey guys, we had a warm welcome in Sweden with lots of sunshine, but the language takes to get used to – so again we need our bad english. Today we had a signing-session and we visited Ikea, and after that we were riding on an elk and we had crispbread for dinner ;-). No for real, our trip was great, cool people, a real friendly country and our album went straight to the top of the charts! Tomorrow we will be in Madrid!!

Tom is SOOOOOO funny.

News photos and captions from Sweden

ONLY 17. Everyone in Tokio Hotel expect for one are still teenagers – and the two frontmen are identical twins.

CHAOS. When Tokio Hotel arrived to bengans recordstore in Stockholm the fans became hysteric. Several fainted and had to end the evening in an ambulance.

HYSTERIA. Security guards had big problems trying to get through the huge crowd of fans when the band left

Fans throw underwear at us” They just released their first record in Sweden last week. But already now the Tokio Hotel hysteria is total.
“The fans throw used underwear at us” lead vocalist Bill Kaulitz says.

They have been compared to The Beatles – and the success story of Tokio Hotel has only just began. The band consists of 17 year old twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz, Gustaf Schäfer, 18 and Georg Listing, 20.

They have been compared to The Beatles – and the success story of Tokio Hotel has only just began. The band consists of 17 year old twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz, Gustaf Schäfer, 18 and Georg Listing, 20.

“This is what we dreamed of, to be able to live of our music” Tom says.

But the success has a backside.
“We don’t even think about getting girlfriends. If you’re in love everything should be centred on her, but now all focus is on the band”

Do you miss being anonymous?
“Sometimes. We’ve grown up in the public eye. Everything we do you can read about in the newspapers” Tom says.
“But as soon as you hit the stage, you realise that this is better than anyything. It took us seven years to get here, and now we’re just gonna enjoy it” Bill says.

Any plans for a concert in Sweden?
“Unfortunately not, but I promise that we’ll do everything we can to make sure it will happen soon, Bill says.

Describe your fans
“They are very loud and we love it. They throw up anything on stage. Candy, stuffed animals, underwear – both new and used” tom says.

Do you save them?
“Yes. Of course.”

“I was completely shaking”

Here is where the rock band Tokio Hotel caused complete chaos in Stockholm. Several of the 1500 hysteric fans needed medical assistance from paramedics and ambulance.

“The air just disappeared and I was just shaking” Emilie says.

The line went on for hundreds of metres along the fences outside Bengans record store yesterday. Most of them were teenage girls. Some had spent the night on the street. Twenty guards, the Red Cross and ambulance staff were ready and prepared- they thought.

But when the four German boys in TH showed up hysteria broke loose.

“I was in shock when they all of a sudden were in front of me”, Emilie Zachrisson, 13 tells with tears streaming down her face.

For other girls the evening ended in an ambulance. The feelings were overwhelming when they saw their idols. Several fainted.

“This is the biggest thing ever happening to them and at the same time they haven’t ate or drunk enough and lack sleep” a Red Cross nurse explains.

One and a half hour after the meeting Emelie is still shaking and her heart is beating fast.

“I’m happy, but when I saw them I felt nauseous and thought I would collapse. When I came back out on the street it was chaos. Everybody cried”

The signing session took several hours, and thanks to massive help from the guards the bands managed to sign for every fan. Then next challenge appeared – getting the band back to the hotel.

The guards had to shut down the street and drive a minivan up to the backdoor of the store. The scream from the fans was deafening and when the van quickly drove away the mass of fans ran after it.

“It was completely crazy” a guard says wiping sweat from his forehead.

More updates from Sweden

June 13, 2007

via th_cult coolbreezegirl

As we know Tokio Hotel was in Sweden yesterday. Biggest turn up at a signing in Stockholm ever. Some articles and pics from today’s newspaper + some more fan pics. Funny thing is that it is not until yesterday that the main massmedia figured out Tokio Hotel existed. that’s the cool thing about Internet, how things can travel like that. They have a big fanbase here but no media (except for two teen mags which had an a small blurp or another) knew about it. A majority of the members at the Swedish Tokio Hotel forums couldn’t show up however, because they lived too far away from Stockholm and were tied up at school or work.

The record company had expected 500 to show up. 1500 showed up. TH signed for everyone.

Isn’t that incredible?

Tokio Hotel Signing RIGHT NOW

More news will come as I get any…
