Making of Schrei Video
December 28, 2008
Translation for this thanks to thchannel on youtube… this is the video for “The Making of Schrei”. How much do you wish YOU were there that day? It would be amazing. My favorite part? “Ich bin Bill.” Heehee.
Bill: Hello, good afternoon! I’m Bill and we’re here at the place we’re recording our new single Schrei.
Producer: At Tokio Hotel’s website we’ve made an appeal that we needed people to play in the music video of Schrei. And we’ve received tons of mail, they’ve written to us from all places, they’re more than happy to travel here at own costs just to be here. Some of them sent extremely sweet letters, but you just can’t answer all of them. I stopped looking at them after I’ve read about 1500 of them.
Director: Hi I’m Zoran Bihao and I’m the director of Tokio Hotel’s new video.
Guy: We have to do one more light-check inside and then we’ll get you in and start.
Director: It’s some sort of bungalow, it’s about to be pulled down I’m afraid. An old bungalow from the sixties. We’re just going to have a light party here, with the wild youngsters over there… Those are the instruments that can be demolished. Hopefully Bill will crowdsurf over here, get op there, sing a bit and get back again. I guess it’ll look more convincing when it’s filled with 75 teenagers.
Producer: It’s like… the parents are gone and the band just invites their friends for a party at with of course the house will get seriously damaged.
Director: It’ll be like some people from here (the party) made a short movie about it.
…
Director: We’ll do it three times.
Tom: It’s about freeing yourself from a certain situation, so we thought it fitted very well to just start recording without a planning.
Bill: People where standing on these stairs and performed, they did very well.
Director: I didn’t want to tell Tokio Hotel nor their friends, what they had to do. I didn’t want it to be artificial. Some things were planned, but I’ve always kept enough room for the people to make it their own.
Georg: The people did very well. We were afraid that in the beginning it’d be a bit fake, but they played along perfectly from the beginning.
Tom: It was a good selection, they really created an atmosphere.
…
Tom: Well, I think live concerts are much better; you immediately see the crowd’s reaction; it’s an entirely different feeling.
Bill: Well, in our practice-room we also have parties from time to time, so this isn’t that different…
Girl: I think the music is cool, and especially their career; they just believed in it and really did it; they’re living their dream. I think that’s great.
Tom: Well, we always wanted to be recognised in the street, so now it’s really great feeling.
Guy: Yes, well, I’ve known them from… yeah, very small; devilish.
Girl: Tom is cool
Girl: Bill is cool
Georg: We weren’t expecting this immediate success. I mean, we’re newcomers and… I don’t know… It’s just a rocket that went up by itself (?)
Bill: I’m very, very glad I don’t have to clean this up…
Gustav: I was like; What was that? It was a little surprise. No, it wasn’t planned.
Voice: Now go crazy!

Meanings behind the songs on Schrei
March 15, 2007
original source unknown. Know it? Post in comments.
SCHREI:
Tom & I have a specific styling and that’s why the teachers and other school mates hates us. Schrei is only simply explaining that we don’t wanna adjust and that we always want to be different. The song is telling about the everyday frustration that we need to go threw to adjust to this enviroment. That is really not the thing that we wann turn to. And that’s why a man has to scream about it sometimes and let all their frustration out. When we are playing the song live, then we really can’t get all of our anger out. It’s like a kick of fredom. And anyway “Schrei” is telling also to stay as you are and that is in our situation really important. With us in our band there is only one simple solution:”If anyone gets himself a little to “high”, then he will get kicked in their face”.
DURCH DEN MONSUN:
Shorty after we found out that they are going to release our first single we sat down with our producers to think about which single will it be. “Durch den Monsun” is a calm song in the begining, and later very loud and hard. We thought that that song will really reflect on the album. We have everything, from a hard and powerful song to a balade. “Durch den Monsun” is telling about entering into a new world when you are having love problems. The main strofes about the song I wrote shortly after I broke up with my girlfriend back then. After that I realised that I made a mistace and that I miss her. “Durch den Monsun” is telling about founding a lost love in another world. And there to fight with your avantures and dangers just to see your love again. When Tom, Gustav, Georg and I found out that the song is number one we freaked. We were in the middle of an interview and we jumped and screamed. We just couldn’t understand. We celebrated that and tosted several times, with our producers. I couldn’t even hope for that.
LEB DIE SEKUNDE:
“Leb die Sekunde” I wrote when I was ten. The song was created one weekend, when I once I didn’t have nothing to do. And I’m a kind of person that needs to do something everytime. I can’t lay in bed all day and do nothing. I don’t wann miss something. I wann do in those moments everything that is posible and to live all of those moments. In one moment that it’s not so hard: we enjoy in every second of our success. Many young people don’t live all of this, as much as we did now. We see a lot of different cities and have a great time. But it’s not always easy to leave that second. When you are sad, sit down and listen to the song and remember that a man has to live every second of his life. Well anyway, there is one second, that I wanted to keep in my tmemory: the second when we were in Magdeburg, on “Stars For Free”, we went on the stage and there were 75 000 people screaming. While we were playing, everything was getting a bit dark and that was one hell of a feeling to see that and to listen to that crowd singing your songs.
RETTE MICH:
“Rette Mich” is the only one, a real one, balade on our album and it’s telling about love pain. I already gone threw that that sometimes man feels abandoned like in this sad song. And that man returns to that place where he was with his love one in a place where they were together, and then it really hurts when you’re there without your love one. A man can also feel that way in a relationship when two people can’t understand each other anymore or when a girl breaks up with you. I’m sure there are a lot of girls in Magdeburg who are thinking that I sing this song for them, but I’m still young and I haven’t had to many “real” relationships. And that’s way it’s not about any particulary girl.
FREUNDE BLEIBEN:
In “Freunde Bleiben” I’m singing “Lieber tot als Bill”(rather dead then Bill). That nobody said to me direct, but we find that sentence really funny. But many people think like that, and so do I. I love this song because I find those fake and unthruthful friendships really horrible. When people can’t bare each other and they say “Hy” to you only because of politness – I find that really monkeyness(If you know what I mean.hehe). The song is dedicated to some guys in Magdeburg that we really can’t stand them and which we wanted to say this to them. In fact, this is also great that there are people like these. I also like to fight and argue with my brother Tom. We like to tease other people and we absolutely love when we succede to get somebody angry, because of the ones who like to “get into somebody pants”(pretending to be nice, when actually they re ****. Like you are sweet to somebody just so you can get something from them, and after you get that what you wanted, you’re out of their lifes for good). Tom and I then tease each other we we know we did something bad.
ICH BIN NICH’ ICH:
“Ich bin nich’ Ich” is one song about broken hearts. It’s about that a man is in love with somebody that he can’t have or can’t be near her/him. And that’s why he feels lonely and stands by himself and therefore he’s changing. That kind of a situation I already had. Then I was really down, because I didn’t knew when will I see that girl, in which I was in love, again. Then I disscus about it with my friends but didn’t found a solution for anything, because in my mind I was by that girl all the time. The others in the band also know that feeling. But I was the only one who was really in love. And that kind of a “forgivness letter” I never received. Today only SMS are sending to each other.
OK………….girls….here is the second part:
WENN NICHTS MEHR GEHT:
The song is telling about what happens after you die. A lot of people say that I’m to young to even think about it. I’m not afraid of death, but everybody thinks about death and what comes after it. We are lucky, since nobody in our family died and nobody close to me. So in the band we we perform the song we think about our pets. That’s is very sad when your pets die. And above all I love dogs. When my dog dies, one world in me will colaps. My doberman-labrador dog is six years old. We got him in a pet home when he was only one year old and he is so cute. We are very sad now, because we can’t see him so often as before.
LASS UNS HIER RAUS:
“Lass uns hier raus” is telling about our dream: to become famous. The song was created in tthe time when we were just producing the album and hoping that we will succede with our music. Then we were just happy that we are working with some producers and wondered:”Gosh how will it be when we actually publish something?”. But as starts we don’t feel as we described in our song. We are still the same persons as we were before. We are creating music and we enjoy the feeling that people consider that good. And the sentence in the song:”Wir sind ein Boygroup und gecastet sind wir auch”(We are a boygroup and we are being tested in singing), that people often say to us, and that’s why we mock it in the song.
GEGEN MEINEN WILLEN:
This song we wrote when our parents seperated and we thought that this topic is really important, about which man should sing. It really suprised us when nobody from us didn’t do that. Many in our generation have lost parents who got divorced, in our class, other friends and etc. Many of them just don’t dare to talk about that and we decided to stand up and talk about all of that, all of those feelings. Even tough all of those stuff that we are singing about didn’t happen to us, because our parents were very cocious to us and told us very gently that they are geting divorced. A man really couldn’t done better then that, but I’m not telling that every parents should stay together just because of their children, but they certanly must also think about them. Tom and I today don’t regret about the divorce anymore. We are having contcets with both sides and that’s also ok. We are still one family even do our parents aren’t together anymore.
JUNG UND NICHT MEHR JUGENDFREI:
Everybody who was with us on the tour knows what this song is telling about. Our menager and guardian should probably sufer. Because we do everything that we want to do and we don’t let anybody to tell us anything what to do. That really reflects on our behaviour and how we look on the stage. That isn’t often allowed to young people. And those who are only two days with us on the tour, must after that go for two weeks to recover from all of it.
DER LETZTE TAG:
In “Der letzte Tag” I’m telling exactly about how will a man feel on his last day. On my last day I would really love to spend it with my love ones, and that is one really sad show. The song was created on one really depressing day. I also sing: “Wenn dieser Tag der letzte ist, bitte sag es mir noch nicht”(When it’s my last day, please don’t yet say it is), and that would be really awfull if a man founds out that this is his last day. I actually wanna die before my other family members.
UNENDLICHKEIT:
This song the boys and I wrote almost all by ourselves. It was created while recording our CD. We spent some incredibly relaxing time in one studio, a little out of the town, where there was just a small procent(%) of nervness(I didn’t know how to write it down.hehe) and rushing. There we fought in water in summer and made a snowman in winter. There we spent all four seasones and that really inspired us. The song is telling about how it is to go somewhere and to live something completely different and new, and let it to it (to let yourself to live that moment). Of course I’m very proud on the song, because a lot of “us” are in it, but I’m also proud on the whole album and all of us. I think we are doing this very good, considering it that we are only shortly in this music business. We grown together and we are sure that our concerts will be better and better in time. I really think that our album went really well.
