Heh. This works. Incredible footage of Bill Kaulitz before the EMA performance and at the very beginning. Very interesting to watch him fidget and prepare to perform. Also really nice view of the boots. I love those boots.

Unsettle, Seduce, and Enchant

November 8, 2009

Woot! This reviewer hits the nail on the head! “The 4 boys unsettle, seduce, and enchant.”

Kings of the Darkness
Like no other group in these years Tokio Hotel manage to bring the attitude of life to the point – therefore the 4 Boys from Magdeburg were rightfully awarded as “Best Band” at the MTV Awards.

In the end, everything came like expected: Katy Perry moderated – with her suspenders on – through the evening, Beyonce lounged, with her suspenders on, through her performance, Bono from U2 didn’t wear any suspenders, but he was very eroticized by himself, through his acceptance speech. And just before everything was over, 4 young men stood on the stage and thanked their Fans. Tokio Hotel was awarded as the “Best Band” at the MTV Awards – and the ones who were surprised by this, probably spent the last few years in a cave.

For a long time the 4 Boys from Magdeburg were designated as a mere “Pop-Phenomenon”, as a cloned retorts Band, as fake, alien-like and unreal like their Frontman: Bill Kaulitz, you could see that in Berlin, appears like a hero from a Manga Comic: almond-shaped, with kohl accentuated eyes, androgynous face, pale skin, slender pelvis, thin legs, studdet belt, backcombed hair. A 20 year old as an timeless artificial character. And that’s what you can’t tell by the music of the band.

When the Band released their debut Album “Schrei” and the Single “Durch den Monsun” in Summer 2005, they immediately rank on #1 in the German and Austrian Charts. 2 Years later, the song is still in the Charts – but this time on the french, italian and portugese ones. For their in 2007 released Album “Zimmer 483″ the french girl start learning german, and when Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg travelled to the US, their shows are sold out.

Wherever Tokio Hotel appears, the Band is the target of idolatry love. Or abysmal hatred. Nothing in between. The 4 boys unsettle, seduce, and enchant. And they succeed, because they brought it to the point, like no other Band in the last few years. The staggering and dreams of an entire generation on the edge of the abyss.

Dark, foreboding, and ominous are their songs, never inconsequential songs, like the Boybands from the 90s produced them. Tokio Hotel are singing about a world, which is haunted by monsoons and populated by Humanoids, a world, that “tipped over” and in which you can’t be certain of a lot of things. „Zwischen den Welten / Bin ich gefangen / Koordinaten / unbekannt“, Bill Kaulitz sings, and you don’t need a lot of talent to hear the attitude of life, of a disoriented, in need of love, nostalgic and romantic youth, the “Generation Crisis”, that’s how it’s called, the generation for which Stephenie Meyer also writes her somber Twilight-Series Novels.

“I’m consumed by a certain craving in all possible directions. But I think all the people have such an indefinite longing in them”, says Bill Kaulitz. Not long ago he turned 20.

Amazing Gustav

November 8, 2009

More from Tokio Hotel at the EMA. This is simply amazing. He is pounding those drums like the amazing musician and athlete that he is, the fires start and he is singing. This is THE BEST Gustav Schäfer video I have ever seen. Thank you so much to th33zimmertour for posting this on youtube!

World behind my Wall

Emmla’s EMA Story

November 7, 2009

This is so amazing. Emmla from Sweden was able to attend the EMA and this is her story. I LOVE this video because it shows the excitement and feeling and you can hear just how AMAZING they sounded and the chaos when the pyro started, oh I just love it! And so happy for Emmla!
====================================

When the show started with the Green Day performance I could not understand that I was actually seeing them. And then Beyonce, she was so fierce! Her performance was one of the best one that night.

And then the show went on with things that I hardly remember haha.
….and then Tokio Hotel came with World behind my wall. I can not with words descirbe how it felt to see TH live. So Im posting this video. It says more than any of my written words. You can hardly see anything, you can barely hear Bill sing, but you can hear mine and Saras reaction as well as a whole arena fangirling ^^

The seconds before we found out wheter or not Th had won ther category, I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest. And when they won I just screamed, and jumped up and down, and clapped my hands. I even shaked hands with some fellow fans in my block, an italian couple to my right and a french old-fan girl who sat in the row in front of us. She had the coolest tshirt with pics from the Develish days!

After the show we took a taxi to hard Rock Café for an afterparty where we were on the guestlist among with other ticket-winners. But it was actually not much fun there, not much people at all. But that suited us well, we had a few drinks and sat down talking about what we had just been through. Trying to understand that we had actually just seen Tokio Hotel live för the first time.

I don’t now if I understand it yet.

It was the best night of my life.

Pop is Saved

MTV Europe Music Awards 2009: The pop is saved
Just in time for the Fall of the anniversary of the MTV Europe Awards have taken over the capital. While U2 played at the Brandenburg Gate and Tokio Hotel almost abfackelten (burned down?) the stage, the evening was primarily one thing clear: The future of the Royal Family Pop is guaranteed. By Sophie Albers

The king is dead, long live the king Bill Kaulitz

Stop the presses, and retrieves the patrols. The 16th MTV Europe Music Awards proved one thing above all: that we must get to the Kingdom of Pop not worry. Yes, the king is dead (of course, Michael Jackson was also honored that evening with a tribute. She was even funny and beautiful people from the street singing his hits.) But who has not thought so before, which was still once said that Bill Kaulitz has taken the crown. The singer of Tokio Hotel as mysterious and androgynous looks like King Michael in his heyday. Only for the Moonwalk must be the pop-folk looking for someone else.

And then the desperate seek for a successor to Madonna. In the new queen is already there, worked, and she reigned in splendid beauty, albeit with a strict hand: Beyoncé’s appearance in a monstrous box of chocolates, the Kate Perry and Lady Gagas refer to their seats. It was pomp, ostentation and pop to perfection.

In general, Kate Perry. Despite suspenders, darling, on the flaunted underwear, bed, boots and the ever-to the O-shaped mouth had the asterisk, which could moderate the evening, about as much sex appeal, like the thick lederbejackte Einheizen, in all 20 minutes of the show cleaving commercial breaks jumped on the stage to hold about 9000 spectators happy. No, a woman is not fresh and sexy, just because they are the two words constantly repeated. Perry’s jokes were boring and annoying. Sometimes the perfect show had settled like, because no interest to the U.S. market. Beyonce wanted to pass their award for best artist right on Shakira. They already had two. Many of the stars appeared not to be right there. But that was probably the short attention span of the TV cameras due.

Tokio Hotel and U2
Two highlights of the evening had durchwachsene: the appearance of Tokio Hotel and the live Kill for a free concert by U2 at the Brandenburg Gate.

The beauty of Tokio Hotel are in addition to the increased ability of the former school band from Magdeburg, the fans. When the guys arrive just before 22:30 clock on the stage, chatting with Pete Wentz Kate Perry important, placebo and Juliette Lewis. But the interest in the huge O2 Arena anybody. The Tokio Hotel’s typical screaming begins. MTV Awards? Indifferent? U2? No matter. Reunification? Whatever! Finally, Bill Kaulitz is waiting in black leather and sunglasses on his bet. When he finally allowed to sing, and rise behind him even columns of flame, which is really a thin boy king of pop. Since even the drums start the fire.

The kings of rock, it is again, the same capture time in German history. U2 may, what was left Barack Obama denied: occurring against the backdrop of the Brandenburg Gate. Berlin is the stadium, and the glow of lighters replaced the phone display when playing rock veterans to complete “Sunday Bloody Sunday”. Jay-Z is also there and let himself be carried away by the momentous historical pathos: “I look forward to the time when all the walls fall and it is just about music.” But is it all about money, stupid, one might say. Leaving aside but then, because in this bubble of pop, opulence and we-feeling, the reality on a break.

The real fashionistas

November 5, 2009

MTV lauds Tokio Hotel for their fashion style and the way they rocked the Red Carpet, calling them “the standout fashionistas!” Good job! Read the full article and be sure to comment!

The standout fashionistas of the show had to be Tokio Hotel, who surprisingly went for a more couture, mod look than their usual glam rock fashion choices. Bill Kaulitz, rocking a fantastic Mohawk, wore a slim-fitted blazer with sequined pockets and paired it with gray very skinny jeans. The other boys in the group decided to go with function instead of fashion and rocked their dark-colored winter jackets on the carpet.

YAY! Best Group

November 5, 2009

Not a lot to say right now, feel a little faint, feel like we are able to breathe again after months of holding and wishing and hoping. Stay tuned for more news and stuff, but OMG. WE DID IT. They won.

And how about that performance? omg.
