Bravo Interview: Six Minutes

Interesting interview from October 13 with Tokio Hotel where they talk about more private things, rumors, why their German fans should not be angry and how they do not see themselves as “making a comeback”.

Julia : Sensational
Sascha: For six minutes you have to watch now. They will tell you super duper stuff. They will clarify many rumors and talk about their new album, which by the way is number one in Germany

Julia: Feel Bravo…kiss, kiss, kiss
Sascha: Here is Tokio Hotel with Humanoid and Automatisch….
Julia: Hush…

Bill: For us it doesn’t feel like a comeback. We have been there all the time. We worked a lot, have been in the studio. It wasn’t like we have been on vacation. To be honest actually not at all. Yes, from that point…( strange sound) from that point it doesn’t feel like coming back, it feels more like just simply sing again with a new album.

Tom: Yes…to go on.

Bill: We have also recorded through internet and that is pretty cool. Because I am in the studio in Hamburg and can hear my producer from L.A. in my headphones. That is wicked.

Tom: Yes …awesome

Bill: …what is possible, and what options you have from that side. We just tried out a lot, it was pretty cool. And we love to be in LA, but Germany and that is no say-so, it is in any case definitely our home.

Sascha: Are you still often in Magdeburg and Loitsche or is it over and gone?

Bill: Well…the two of them, yes. (points at Gustav and Georg)

Georg: Yes, regularly.

Bill: The two of them yes.

Tom: They….

Georg: Actually always

Bill: Well, they also live there.. Tom and I do not. We are almost never there. I have in some way, the other day we have been there because of somebody’s birthday, I was there and after a long time i saw it again.

Question: Tom and Chantelle? What is going on there?
Tom: In any way, she is an extremely nice girl, I have to say. But otherwise there is not so much going on. To be honest, it is because of the time. And you know me, I am not that kind of guy who wastes his time on a relationship.

Sascha: It didn’t change?

Tom: What? No, it didn’t change, although I have to say UI have changed a bit my mind when it comes to this whole being in love stuff. I disbelieved at all that it could work out but now I believe that in any way it could work out, at least i hope so.

Sascha: How is that?
Tom: I would be happy..if…

Bill: Because of me.

Tom: Anyhow i would be happy to fall truly in love…

Bill: Because of me he is more mature…

Sascha: Really?…

Tom: Yes, but…

Bill: Now he knows to appreciate such things. I am talking about it since i have been thirteen.

Sascha: How did you do that?

Bill: Over the time, he simply learns it from me by watching.

Tom: No, it is not true

Bill: He simply knows now what i have already knew at the age of fifteen and before. He is realizing it slowly.

Tom: Nobody is talking about the …..

Bill: You shouldn’t waste your time with some flippancy and beside-stories.

Tom: OK. He’s right…

Bill: ..but to spend your few time with people who are truly important for you..

Tom: He’s right, but this doesn’t shut it off to have some fun in your life with different girls from to time. It doesn’t shut it off, but basically it would be nice, if i would once fall in love. I would be happy about it, although it could be negative..because i don’t have time for it to be honest, to fall in love or to start a serious relationship.

Bill: It was cool to get to know Jay Z…

Tom: Jay Z was absolutely cool

Sascha: How has he been to you?

Bill: Totally nice. He is a very laid-back guy. It was a nice evening. We had dinner together, a drink together and so on. It was nice, yes, actually everyont was nice. We haven’t gained at all negative experiences with somebody.

Sascha: How did you get along with Miley? You did get to know her as well….

Bill: Oh, she was, she was very nice. We have worked with her a bit at the VMA’s and she is a true cheerful person. In anyway a clever girl, she totally raises you up if you are just getting tired.

Question: Isn’t Georg afraid that a Paparazzi is bushwhacking his new girlfriend?

Tom: Oh, we are extremely afraid of Paparazzi.

Georg: You have to keep an eye on it, of course. You have to be very careful to which places you want to go, but you cannot hide for the rest of your life. This is not possible. I simply hope that people accept the fact that SHE doesn’t want to be in the spotlight.

Bill:Well, to this we can only say again, we don’t want to dumbstruck anybody, especially not our German Fans, and there is no reason for it. To be angry in someway, I can only say it over and over again, especially it is pointless. Why should they spoil their time which they, we spend with them? Because somebody is angry about something. We simply try to do it, to be there for all fans. We are in every country, we are in Germany. We recorded again the album in German and we will contuine with this. Therefore there is truly no reason to be angry. We live in Germany, our families are here. We know it and we will never forget it, and this is not only talking. Our career started in Germany and for this we are so thankful every day, and we will never forget it. No matter what will happen, no matter in which country we will be successful, we will always go back to Germany, because here are our roots.

Bill: There are many things in line for Germany

Tom: We will truly do a lot in Germany…yes

Bill: I have done again the second part from Arthur and the Minimoys and for example the premier is in Germany. The world premiere is in Germany, yes a lot of stuff.

Tom: Yes, a lot of TV-Shows

Bill: We will do a lot, yes TV-Shows, Award-shows and so on. We are back again.

Bravo – Album News

Producer David Jost on Bravo: “We already have 17 songs finished – I think in the end we will come to 25 pieces. We have soooo much great material – I do not know how we will get everything.” The fans will be happy.

The Bravo Editor-on-Chief was allowed to hear the new songs.

BRAVO-chief Tom Junkersdorf: “Only so much – wow, what a great sound! So much power, so new, so international and unexpectedly different. This has nothing to do with Durch Den Monsun. I am totally surprised at how the band has evolved musically and what they dared!”

Congratulations to esTHer. She has shared her drawings with us at the fanclub forum for a while and throughout the rest of the fandom too! And now she has been recognized in the Portuguese edition of Bravo Magazine! Here is the spread!

Tokio Hotel recently about complete silence reigned. In recent months, no new songs, not performances – Bill (19), Tom (19), Gustav (20) and Georg (21) withdrew completely from public attention. Bravo #48 – Germany

Enjoy this! Sorry I am behind, I have been sick with a cold and sore throat and I only get out of bed for about 5 minutes at a time and then I jump back under the covers. Translation by Pat at the Fanclub Forum. I actually like most of Bill’s “Fashion Flops”! Especially Spring Nicht outfit!

Translation of the Tom article:
The Girls love everything about me.
And I also think I am pretty cool.
But there is one thing that not many people know, I really do not like.
My Feet!!
I think they are absolutely horrible.
Thank god they are hidden most of the time and I don’t have to look at them very often..

The article about Bill is from a quiz to see if someone is idle/vain.
if you have most A’s you are like Bill:
Bill does not even go to the mailbox without having spend hours on his perfect look.
Because of that the Tokio Hotel singer always looks styled to the top.
that is a high prize spending hours on hairstyling and doing touch ups.
You also have to give up a lot of free time to make your styling look work.
(okay, last sentense isn’t a perfect translation)

The End of Tokio Hotel – Bravo #42

Scans and translation with many thanks to th-unlimited.org. “We wouldn’t cope the end of Tokio Hotel” In the last part of the Tokio-Hotel-series are the guys very thoughtful! Full halls, front charts-places, prizes on the assembly line, millions of fans all over the world – currently Tokio Hotel are absolute high-flyers. But every now and then, Bill (19), Tom (19), Gustav (20) and Georg (21) think about the time after the hype. So much for them is clear: A life without their band, no one of them can’t imagine this: “Tokio Hotel is our life,” says Bill. “Would the band be at the end, a piece of us would die. I can’t imagine anything else,” he says. And Tom adds: “We don’t live in a dream bubble, and know that sometimes other people in the charts will be ahead ahead. It’s clear to us.” Do the boys have fear for having a crash? “We wouldn’t cope that,” says Bill. “We gave everything up for the band – a normal life is just hardly possible. But we won’t take drugs in any case. Sure, it’s always easy said in the run-up. You never know. But we will solve this differently.” But to think about the end of the band, is not to think at the moment. The boys are currently working on her third album. “That’s something very new,” says Tom. “And we also fiddle about a surprise for our German fans …”

The Truth about Fans and Groupies!

Germany, France, England or the USA
No matter where the boys show up, the same scenes happen everywhere.
Fans that completely lose it, who scream the names of Bill, Tom, Gustav and Georg.
they know the songs inside out.

Many TH fans go even further, making clear offers to their favorites., for instance by writing dirty poster slogans. “F**k mich durch den monsoon, or, Tom we want to give you a blowjob”, are some of the innocent ones.

In the fifth part of the Big Bravo series, the boys tell us exclusively what is really going on, between them and their fans.

Bravo: what do you think about the somewhat hard slogans by your fans?

Tom: I think it is cool that our fans are so direct. (smiles).
Bill: that’s our fans.. but to be honest, when we first started, it took our breath away!

Bravo: what have been the best experiences with your fans?

Bill: Our first concert after “Durch den monsoon” was released,all of a sudden so many fans sang along to that song. The concert had to be cut short, cause the pushing and shoving was too much.
That really overwhelmed me.
Tom: we were just in Mexico. we had to give out autographs for 2 hours. The fans were so touched, that a lot of them cried. that was so extreme. We had never been to an south american country before and we didn’t know that we were so famous there and all at once there were thousands of people. it was really unbelievable what happened there!

Bravo: have you ever had weird experiences with fans?

Tom: oh yeah! in madrid the situation got out of control once. Gustav went to his hotelroom, but in his bed were some fans already. they were all over him and he was completely startled. There have been a lot of fans in front of Bill and my room as well. they kept pounding on the door, climbed up the firescapes,totally screaming!
Bill: then all of a sudden the police showed up. they broke down the door and pulled me out.
they yelled: are you Bill kaulitz?” then they pressed my hands together, interrogated me and thought I was responsible for the chaos. The problem was, they could not speak english, only spanish. I hardly understood anything. Tom had tried to get through to the security guys. when they came, the problem got cleared. The police really wanted to take me to the policestation!

Bravo: that is when fans go to far, or ??

Bill: well, yeah, it was pretty traumatizing and severe.
Tom: but we were on the road with our band, then we really do not mind. it is part of the job and we are not scared or anything. it was pretty bad, but at the same time it was pretty funny. when we are at home, we like to have our peace and quiet. we do not give out autographs and take pictures. but when we are on the road, we gladly do those things!

Bravo: have you ever been mean to your fans?

Tom: well we would never be mean to our fans on purpose. they are too important to us.
Bill: we don’t want to be mean to them, we love them. but everyone has their bad days and looks mad at times. sometimes we are just not able to give everyone an autograph. that is when we are in stress and have to go to the next appointment. We are on the road for our fans all the time and are definately no a**holes.

Bravo: hand on your hearts, did you have painfull moments with your fans?

Tom: noo, just one time a girl wanted to go to the room and fell down.
Bill: or the time at the airport. one time girls yelled: we wanna f**k you, in the dead silence. that was pretty painfull but more for them.

Bravo: Tom, how many groupies did you sleep with?

Tom: hmmm that is really hard to say, I am not counting.
Bill; yeah he does, he has a clicker thing, right?? (laughs)
Tom: what I can say, I had more women in my bed that I have been to the toilet.(laughs) No, nonsense. seriously now, I have calmed down somewhat.

Bravo: meaning??

Tom: I really do not want to believe it myself, but maybe I have had my wild time already at 19. not that sex is boring!! but I prefer watching a dvd at night sometimes. the other thing is a bit more tiring. (smiles) at the moment, I could actually imagine something more serious. but the girl would really have to be a knockout. (knock me off my feet)

Bravo: and what is going on with groupies and Gustav and Georg? are they as wild as tom?

Tom: as far as we know, nothing is going on with them (laughs)
Bill: they are not the kind of guys, that get together with a girl just like that. Gustav had a girlfriend at the beginning of our career. but after that nothing anymore.
Tom: Georg acts like a total flirt. but he actually prefers when the girl comes on to him.
Bill: he is really dirty on the inside, but too shy to the outside.
Tom: you have to show him how things are done. I am sure that there are girls that really like him and that he likes as well! but no one stepped up to him.
with me that is totally different. I am one of the hunter and collector types.

Bravo: and you Bill, still no kiss for you?

Bill: no, nothing yet. it makes me totally sad. I am 19 now, and I really miss it. I really would like a girlfriend, that I could share my live with, who understands everything I do. I have Tom of course, but I absolutely want a girlfriend.

Bravo: but there are of course a lot of offers?

Bill: it is really hard, to trust someone. I do not have time, am always on the road. when I see girls at after show parties, I never know, what they really want. I really do not see a change short term. that is bad. but I still have the music, that is my sanctuary. and dogs are my replacement. at some point I want to have a lot of dogs. They make me happy!
