May or early June for Album 3
February 9, 2009
A new article has appeared on yahoo.de via the Associated Press. We have a sucky translation but basically it says that they are still writing, the album is in process, they are enjoying being at home during this time. Now, here is the sucky translation. Good translation by Jana! Danke, danke!
Hamburg (AP) New album by „Tokio Hotel“ shall be released until the beginning of June
Hamburg (ap) The new album by “Tokio Hotel” is expected to be on the market at the end of May or the beginning of June. “If Bill doesn`t come with more song ideas, then we`ll finish the album-production hopefully in the next six weeks”, producer David Jost said to the news-agency AP. Actually the song-writing was finished:”But now Bill and Tom have written two new songs last week”
Singer Bill Kaulitz and his twin-brother Tom have recorded their own demos of the songs in their little home-studio in their apartement in Berlin and sent them then to Los Angeles, where the album is mixed at present.
“As the band traveled so much in the last three years and lived out of a suitcase, they are happy about every day, they can spend at home in Germany”, the manager of the Kaulitz-brothers said, who became famous with the song “Durch den Monsun” and rank now at one of the most successful German rockbands.
So the songs were reworked in a three hour video-conference, and Bill have sung them in a studio in Hamburg. Via ISDN they were recorded then in Los Angeles, Jost explained.
We have no clue what ISDN means. Do you?
Oh, ISDN = In a videoconference, ISDN provides simultaneous voice, video, and text transmission between individual desktop videoconferencing systems and group (room) videoconferencing systems.
“Dark” Anthems for Next Album
January 28, 2009
MTV.com has news today about the next Tokio Hotel album. The Production Trio The Matrix are working on the album. Here’s a quote from the article, but be sure to go read the entire thing. OMG, this is EXCITING! I cannot wait to hear what is coming.
So far, Christy said the German group has laid down tracks at two different Los Angeles studios with the Matrix and with their own in-house production team over the past few months, with a mix that includes very “strong, anthem-y” songs with a dark edge and “lots of guitars.”
Spock said he can’t recall the last time he worked with a singer who had as much star quality as TH leader Bill Kaulitz. “The music business really needs Tokio Hotel right now,” Spock said. “They’re reviving that image of what a rock star is. … Their writing has developed massively, and we’re experimenting a bit with some Depeche Mode influence. … It doesn’t sound like anything else out there right now. People don’t want to hear a bunch of 808s and Auto-Tuned vocals. They want the real stuff.”
LOTS OF GUITARS!

Tokio Hotel Back in the Studio and Bill wants sleep
September 12, 2008
Bill and I have that in common. Who in their right mind wakes up before the afternoon? :) Here’s a google translation. “Tokio Hotel” are back in the studio. In the next few weeks, the third studio album will be completed”, said manager David Jost in an interview. Singer Bill said he is particularly pleased to finally be able to sleep late: “I will not stage the whole time to get up early.” Next Bill said that he hate to get up early. Therefore would be during the production phase after his sleeping rhythm directed: “Since then we catch the evening and work until late into the night.”
“Tokio Hotel” for four MTV Latin Music Awards nomination. The German band could be in October, for example, with the prize in the category “Newcomer of the Year”.
Berliner Kourier – D. Jost about new album
August 21, 2008
Berliner Kurier chatted up David Jost about new album. Nothing really new, but David Jost says release date will be between January and March next year for German version and English one will follow a bit later. Translation by Jollyhime (Thank you!):
So strong is their new album! Bill bubbles from new ideas. It is truly rocking …
Tokio Hotel will be going back into the Studio
Screech! Nix with a vacation by the sea: after their U.S. tour Tokio Hotel dives into the studio in order to slave with their new album that will be released at the beginning of 2009 and which will be rockier.
For the four boys from Magdeburg there is no time to rest. On their U.S. tour they just make the kids in America scream. And after the MTV Awards ceremony in Los Angeles in September, where they are nominated next to Britney Spears for the best video and nominated as best newcomer, it will be home and into the studio.
There is already enough material for the third TH-album. “Bill has been coming with new song ideas for months,” says their manager David Jost. “He uses every spare minute to write songs.”
Tokio Hotel plans to make the record even harder than the previous albums.
“We will be recording the album in both the German and English versions,” says Jost. The German version will be publiced from January to March 2009 and the English one a little later in the United States.
Jost: “There are also some German sung songs on it.”
Christmas should all be ready. Only then may Tokio Hotel have a vacation. Jost: “They will probably fly back to some postcard island.” The last vacation the band spent in the Maldives.
