Yay, another blast from the past! 2005 appearance in Yam magazine. Thank you to Tokio Hotel UK Street team for the translation! This is fun!

Bill & Co reveal exclusively everything about pranks, silbing fights and accidents…

Georg: “I pierced 15 coffee packages!”
Bill: “Tom and I were fighting on a catwalk.”

PAGE 2

Tom: “I’ve had surgery without anaesthesia once!”
Gustav: “My sister spat at me!”

Last week Bill (16), Tom (16), Gustav (17) and Georg (18) came out as “Peeping Toms”, now the Magdeburg guys reveal more secrets. During the interview they confess their youthful shenanigans and other extreme experiences…

What are all the things you got up to as kids?
Tom: Oh, quite a lot! However, never any real bad things. When I was a child I’ve always just wanted to steal something but I never dared to. I’ve never even pinched a lollipop. (laughs)
Bill: A mate of mine stole a mouse once when we were in a pet shop together. He then wanted to set it free outside. However, I felt really sorry for the mouse so I took it home with me. We named it Swartie and Tom and I had it for more than two years.
Tom: Bill and I often swapped the sweaters with our names on them outside the school when we were kids. Then the teachers mistook us for the other one of course. I also spattered ink on a teacher once. She didn’t notice but someone ratted on me. I received a [written] reprimand for it.

Were there things that went completely wrong?
Georg: You can say that again! In the past my parents used to stock up on quite a lot of coffee packages at home. I thought the sound when you pierce the vacuum packaging and it hisses was so cool. That’s why I pierced 15 coffee packages one time and I got into huge trouble!
Tom: After moving home our mum was very proud of the new carpet. When she went to the neighbours for a bit, Bill and I played construction workers. We wanted to try out our new sand toys and emptied potting soil from the flower boxes on the carpet. However, the soil was wet and therefore totally muddy. The flooring was ruined. All hell broke loose then!
Bill: There were many mishaps with Tom and me. Once even on a catwalk. We often walked for fashion shows when we were six [years old]. Tom and I still looked completely identical and that was always an eye-catcher. For the catwalk we had a choreography during which Tom was supposed to drop the scarf to the ground. However, when he didn’t do it, I pulled the scarf away from him. After that we totally argued on the catwalk, beat each other and rolled around [on the floor]. They had to get us off the stage then.

And what about any “sibling stories” from the rest?
Georg: No chance, unfortunately. I’m a spoiled only child. (laughs)
Gustav: I often argued with my sister Franziska. She’s nine years older than me and did some very mean things to me as a child. Once she kneeled on me and “lowered” her spit and sucked it back again. Then one thread of spit disconnected and dripped directly onto my mouth. That was sooo disgusting. I still hold it against her today…

Has something really dangerous happened to you once before?
Bill: Yes! We were on a dangerous sled run with our dad. We walked up the side of the hill and I was pushing Tom slightly. He fell onto the track and a girl, who couldn’t steer at all, crashed into him. One of the sledge’s runners grazed his eyebrow and he had to get several stitches.
Tom: The doctors had to stitch up the wound before the anaesthesia could really kick in because I had lost quite a lot of blood. I could feel each stitch and was in a lot of pain.
Bill: Those kind of things happened to Tom from time to time. When he was a small child he wanted to get something from the bottom shelf in a department store and a woman stepped on his arm with her high-heeled pumps. The arm was broken – but the woman just walked off!

PINK BOX
Tour start in Zurich (On 29th November 2005)
70 minutes live power, two encores, 900 people, zero fans fainted. That’s the result of Tokio Hotel’s tour start in Zurich. Tokio Hotel presented their show in the small neighbouring country even before starting their tour journey through Germany. Not a sign of the infamous Swiss restraint – the fans inside the sold out Rohstofflager venue screamed louder than the band was able to play. The TH tour will continue until 17th December (2005).

Picture: Within reach: Bill & Co patiently signed autographs for the fans before and after the show.

A comment about Tokio Hotel
Stefan Raab: “How did they actually find out about the alcohol and Tokio Hotel? Did they sniff the diapers or what?”

Both of them tell BRAVO how they have been living as a twin pack for 16 years…

Top, left twins picture: Different on the outside – the same at heart: Bill and Tom (both 16) feel magically connected with each other
Big Tom picture: Tom always knows how his twin brother is doing. Even if he happens to not be around.
Small picture of twins on horses: Riding when they were 12 (years old): (it was) already easy to tell them apart visually

They think it’s cool to be twins
Tom: I can’t imagine a life without Bill. We’ve been hanging around each other since we were sh*tting in our diapers. I think it’s very cool to have a twin brother – it’s really lovely to have a person that’s so close to you.

They have the same dreams
Bill: Sometimes we realise we’ve been dreaming the exact same thing when we tell each other our dreams in the mornings!

Their moods are the same
Bill: We’re happy about the same things – and are sad about the same. If one of us gets up in the morning and is in a foul mood, the other one is in a foul mood as well…

They looked the same when they were children
Tom: Our mum dressed us the same when we were little. Then, when we started school we wanted to wear different things. When we were eight years old we moved into totally different directions.

They took the p*ss out of their kindergarten teachers
Tom: In kindergarten we made our teachers’ blood boil. We had shirts with “Bill” and “Tom” embroidered on them – but we swapped with each other. So when nobody knew who was who anymore we cracked up laughing. Unfortunately it wouldn’t work in school anymore – we were already too different then…

They already had their own style aged eight
Tom: Early on we already longed to emphasise what sets us apart and to show that we are individual personalities…

They want to be different
Tom: I think it’s good that we look different. I don’t want to be like Bill and Bill (does) not (want to be) like me. I couldn’t imagine walking around like my brother anymore.

They don’t have the same hobbies
Tom: Bill is rather creative, draws a lot and designs clothes. I do graffiti and ride BMX (bikes). The hobby we share is music.

They’ve got the same best friend
Tom: Our best friend is called Andreas. The three of us always hang out. There’s no jealousy or hassle. I think Andreas likes the two of us the same…

Page 2

Twins photo shoot picture: The very different twins are best friends. By the way: Tom is ten minutes older than Bill
Baby twins picture: Bill (in the front) and Tom (in the back) when they were one year old.
Bill picture: Bill understands Tom even without many words – both laugh about the same things and are sad at the same time…
Bottom, twins photo shoot picture: Everything is identical: without hair and clothes one couldn’t tell them apart
Bottom, mini twins picture: Bill (left) and Tom (right) on their first day in school

Tom has got more patience
Bill: Whenever I wanted to learn an instrument but couldn’t do it after one day, I immediately gave up. Tom is harder on himself there.

Tom can also sing
Bill: Tom has got a good voice but he just doesn’t dare to sing. However, I’m still the better singer…

They love fast food
Tom: Bill likes everything I like to eat as well – and vice versa. We like fast food, pizza, rice pudding and pasta bakes. We don’t eat what we don’t know. Both of us can’t cook at all.

Bill is better in school
Bill: This year my average was 1.9 and Tom’s 2.2. Last year it was exactly the other way around. We love subjects where you get to chat a lot, like, Art, Social Studies or Ethics. We’re also pretty good in German. Very much unlike P.E., Maths or Physics.

They’re still identical in the nude
Bill: Our physical appearance is exactly the same. If one would shave off our hair and strip us off our clothes, we’d still look identical!

Tom isn’t that cool
Bill: I’m the more sensitive one of us both; I always give everything lots of thought. However, Tom isn’t as cool as he looks either…

Bill talks more
Bill: Both of us talk incredibly much and fast. I’m talking a few more miles a minute though. On the other hand, Tom’s voice is a bit deeper.

They hit each other
Bill: Luckily we see most things the same way so it doesn’t often come to blows. However, if there’s trouble between us, we also hit each other. However, it’s us against them, should anybody interfere then.

Teachers have to suffer
Bill: We were put into different classes because it was almost impossible to cope with us if the two of us were disputing (a matter). Now, we’ve got optional subjects where we are together again – the teachers are pretty much p*sses off by that.

Tom is a grouch
Bill: Teachers always say that I’m the more approachable and more open-minded one of the two of us. Tom is more of a grump…

They like the same girls
Bill: Tom and I always fancy the same girls. However, it doesn’t cause arguments. We let the girl decide – and the loser has to accept it…

Their first kiss was with the same girl
Tom: We were nine (years old). I kissed her first, Bill only later. However, both of us thought it was horrible!

Bill is the stud-muffin
Bill: Being the front man I get most of the fan mail. But things are also going pretty well for Tom. He just makes more of it than me…

Tom has more sex
Bill: I’m more into long-term relationships. I feel sorry for the girls who get their hearts broken by my brother. That’s to say, he’s really not good at breaking-up. Even though I’ve already had a few girlfriends – but I haven’t had sex with as many as Tom.

They don’t share everything
Tom: We don’t share girlfriends – and clothing! I could never wear a pair of Bill’s trousers; I’d feel totally uncomfortable with it. Bill wears much tighter clothes than I do. It’s also easy to tell our underwear apart: That’s to say, I wear wide boxer shorts and Bill tight ones…

Bill can’t handle money
Bill: I just buy way more clothes for myself. That’s why I don’t have any money left at the end of the month – unlike Tom. He just gives it more thought what he spends his money on…

Tom sleeps longer
Bill: In the mornings I need two hours in the bathroom with showering and painting my nails. Tom, however, can always sleep for another hour…

Page 3

Twins photo shoot picture: Together they’re unbeatable. The super twins always stick together.
Twins picture rowing: Tom (left) and Bill (right) aged nine with their mother Simone while rowing

They always know how the other one is doing
Tom: Once I happened to be with my dad on my own when we were younger and suddenly I knew: Bill is not doing well, something had happened. I convinced my dad to call home – and I was right. Bill was just on his way to the hospital because he’s seriously allergic to mosquito bites and had been bitten. We immediately drove home then.

They can read minds
Bill: Tom often says the exact same thing I was also just about to say. And when I look at him, I also know exactly what he’s thinking.
Tom: We always know exactly what the other one is about to say next. Some things we don’t need to say out loud anymore.

News Ticker

Eggs and lighters were thrown at Tokio Hotel during a performance at the Waltroper Parkfest. When Tom got hit by an egg in the face, the guys walked off stage. “There are always haters”, Bill says. “However, I don’t understand why they had to ruin the concert for everybody else.”

Nobody is closer to them than the other one
Bill: Tom is even closer to me than my mum. Of course she’s very important to us but we’re connected by something very special.

Together they’re stronger
Tom: Each of us is very strong and no pushover. But together we’re unbeatable.

They want to live together
Bill: When we’ll be moving out from home, we want to share a place. I just can’t imagine living somewhere without Tom.

Gustav and Georg have to suffer
Bill: Sometimes it’s pretty tough for Gustav and Georg to stand a chance against us when we’re discussing. However, we’re trying not to leave them out. They’ve also known us for a long time and can deal with it quite well, actually.

Only death can separate them
Tom: I’d feel totally alone without Bill. Death is the only thing that can separate us…

Tokio Hotel Style

Tom – Tom’s Cool Hip Hop Style
Picture 1: Tom (16) does not leave the house without sweatbands. He has already bought himself a total of ten of them (ca. 10€)
Picture 2: Rasta man Tom uses the Sony Ericsson T630 – he is not particularly fond of ringing tones…
Picture 3: Hip Hop style: Tom’s shirt is by Vokál (70€), the baggy [trousers] by Sir Benni Miles (80€)
Picture 4: Tom listens to a lot of Hip Hop on his mini iPod (ca. 199€). He has already uploaded 350 songs in total.

Bill – Manga Hair & Self-Made Trousers
Picture 1: Bill uses coco wax to make the manga hairstyle last
Picture 2: His hair only holds because of the good “Aldi” hairspray (1€)
Picture 3: Bill’s (16) trousers are self-made. “I spent a day with mum to tailor two old jeans into one!”
Picture 4: Bill always has the MP3 mobile phone Nokio 3300 (1€) on him. His favourite footwear are the “Nike Air Force” (90€)
