Emmla’s EMA Story

November 7, 2009

This is so amazing. Emmla from Sweden was able to attend the EMA and this is her story. I LOVE this video because it shows the excitement and feeling and you can hear just how AMAZING they sounded and the chaos when the pyro started, oh I just love it! And so happy for Emmla!
====================================

When the show started with the Green Day performance I could not understand that I was actually seeing them. And then Beyonce, she was so fierce! Her performance was one of the best one that night.

And then the show went on with things that I hardly remember haha.
….and then Tokio Hotel came with World behind my wall. I can not with words descirbe how it felt to see TH live. So Im posting this video. It says more than any of my written words. You can hardly see anything, you can barely hear Bill sing, but you can hear mine and Saras reaction as well as a whole arena fangirling ^^

The seconds before we found out wheter or not Th had won ther category, I thought my heart was going to jump out of my chest. And when they won I just screamed, and jumped up and down, and clapped my hands. I even shaked hands with some fellow fans in my block, an italian couple to my right and a french old-fan girl who sat in the row in front of us. She had the coolest tshirt with pics from the Develish days!

After the show we took a taxi to hard Rock Café for an afterparty where we were on the guestlist among with other ticket-winners. But it was actually not much fun there, not much people at all. But that suited us well, we had a few drinks and sat down talking about what we had just been through. Trying to understand that we had actually just seen Tokio Hotel live för the first time.

I don’t now if I understand it yet.

It was the best night of my life.

Official Fanclub Spotlight – Portugal

April 8, 2009

Here is something new for us! A spotlight on another of the Official Fanclubs! This one is for Official Tokio Hotel Fanclub of Portugal! Thank you SO much to Inês for providing us with this information about herself and CFTH!

Hey everybody! Inês here (AKA Heinz), from TH Official Portuguese Fanclub (CFTH: Clube de Fãs dos Tokio Hotel – in Portuguese). The first time I heard about Tokio Hotel was in March 2006, when I watched the video of “Durch den Monsun”. I admit that my first thought was “WTH? Why don’t they sing in English? Pfft…” I didn’t know yet that I would become addicted to their German lyrics. It’s great to be part of this world!

Tokio Hotel Portugal

For me, Tokio Hotel is like a fever. A long lasting fever.

So, I decided to write a few lines about our Fanclub, so you can know a bit more about us.

The Fanclub was created by a fan, which’s no longer part of it, on July 11 of 2006. It’s now run by four admins, heart dedicated to it, and I’m very proud to be one of them! :)

It was with a lot of effort that the Fanclub has developed a good national disclosure of the band, and consequent growth in the number of fans.

We’ve always tried to do our best keeping the fans posted with all the news about the band, launching contests with super cool prizes, organizing meet-ups, supporting fans’ activities, etc.

The existence of the Fanclub contributed to the union between the Portuguese fans, but also to the knowledge and further contact with the international ones.

Since the very beginning, we’ve been working and keeping a good relationship with Universal Music, and it quickly named us as the official fanclub in Portugal, linking us from TH’s official homepage. Though, we still needed to be named official by the German Fanclub, and that finally happened a while ago. We couldn’t be more grateful, honored and happy about it!

Thank you so much!

Fan Spotlight – Alyssa

February 20, 2009

Hallo, I am Alyssa as known as Alyssuh on the THA website. The first time I heard Tokio Hotel is a day I will always remember. I can still remember what time it was when I even heard my first song by them.

So here is how it went: July 20th 2008 I was sitting at home watching MTV and on commercials they show some bands that are on tour and where they were touring.
And the band Tokio Hotel came up, at the time I was really interested in finding new bands to listen to so I wrote Tokio Hotel on my hand so I would remember to look them up.

I ended up forgetting until 8:47 pm later that night.

So, I went to youtube and typed in Tokio Hotel, and clicked on Ready Set, Go!
I started watching it and when Bill came on the screen I was totally amazed about how hot he is, It was love at first sight.

The next day I started looking up stuff about them, and I found out they were German, I thought it was really cool so I wanted to listen to one of their German songs and I listened to Spring Nicht. At the time I didn’t understand German, But there was so much emotion in the music that I cried.

I became very curious about them and listened to all their songs and started to learn German, spending hours on end looking things up about them. Then I went to their myspace page and saw they were going to be touring in St.Paul Minnesota on the 16th of August. I was so excited I started to scream because St.Paul is only four hours away from where I live, so I called my dad and begged him to let me go to it and he didn’t know if he had the money for me to go, so I was so sad for days I NEEDED to go. Then my dad called me and told me he got the tickets. I was so excited.

I waited in line for about 2 hours. Then they let us in and I was pretty close to the front row. Then Tom and Georg started in with their guitar to Break Away and the Big screen with the TH symbol ripped down, and there they were. the four most beautiful guys in the world. Everyone was screaming.

It was so awesome Bill even pointed at me when he was singing and I totally freaked out. But, then they went on a break and my dad wanted to leave. so I had to. It’s so sad to know that I could have seen them for just a few more minutes.

Since then, I have been voting for them and supporting them, waiting for the day they will come back.

Fan Spotlight – Joss and Jess

January 15, 2009

Here is our first joint spotlight! Joss and Jess wanted to do their together!

Hi my name is Jay or Joss for short and I’m from Bronx, New York. I’m the owner of an NY/NYC Tokio Hotel Street Team.

It was January 27 2008 and I was on Youtube’s homepage looking at some videos because I was bored. I saw a blurry image of someone with black hair in a video image so I decided to click on it. once I did the title was “Bill and Tom”. the first image of the video was a guy with long spiky black hair, and from his looks I thought he was girl, then the next image was a guy with dreadlocks and by his looks I thought he was a girl too! So I stopped the video and looked at some comments, I read one comment that said “I love Bill he’s hot”. Once I read that I still thought Bill was a girl, so I went to search Bill and Tom until I came across “Tokio Hotel- Ready, Set, Go”. So then that’s when I found out Bill was a guy and Tom was too. but I was more interested in Bill so I decided to look him up on Youtube. Then, there’s was a video about him and I fell in love with him even though he was 18 years old by that time. So I heard more of their songs until I heard of “Don’t Jump”, that song reminded me of my suicidal problem in 2007. Since then I was a big fan of them and I remember I first showed a picture of them to my mom and I was pointing to Bill my mom said “You love him!?” I told her “No mom I like their music”. Sooner later my mom started to like them a little bit, I was hoping for that to happen. Every time I get mad or sad I listened to there songs and they make me happy, I never felt like this before for someone especially for a band. Thanks to them I stopped my suicidal problem and they saved my life with their songs.

My only two goals is hope that The NY/NYC Street Team becomes very big in the US and hope that some people will join us. My second goal is that I hope that people will like Tokio Hotel in the future, because Tokio Hotel is a great band, not to mention they won a VMA award. I hope people will listen to their songs and understand them. I heard so many people say that they hate them because their fans or because they’re different from other bands. Well, we us fans can’t help to love them so much and scream our lungs out in their concerts. Also Tokio Hotel is just like any other band I mean look at them, they’re pretty young to do all of this, their International, and they have millions of fans that love for their music. I really hope that in the next 10 years the band is still together and making music for us fans.

————–

Hey, I’m Jess – a.k.a. Jessumsx813 :) I’m from Long Island, New York and I’m 16. I discovered Tokio Hotel almost a year ago, and I am honestly beyond astonished that I’m still as huge a fan – if not bigger than I was back then.

I use a site called mp3fiesta to buy music, because it’s cheap and great. Each song (at the time) was 10 cents, and each CD was a dollar (it’s been bumped up to .20 and 2.00). The site gave me some free money for the holidays, and I spent it really quickly. I had spent almost all of my money, except for 20 cents. So, curious, I asked a good friend of mine to suggest a band. “Go look up Tokio Hotel” she said. so I said, sure why not. I asked for a song suggestion, and she said “1000 Meere”. so I gave her an odd look, and she says “They’re german”. I shrug and say “alright, Erin. I’ll give ‘em a shot.”

so off I run to Youtube, hunting down this supposed 1000 Meere. I started the song, and minimized the window, just listening to it while I did other things. They were fabulous, and I was blown away. So I went to buy two songs – Ready, Set, Go! and Love is Dead.
I was listening for hours and hours… and I realized I hadn’t seen what they looked like yet. So I opened a google window, and looked them up… and I was blown away.
needless to say, I was in love at first sight ;)

In the past year I’ve met so many amazing people through this fandom, and I will always cherish it. I’ve found the TH fandom to be like a little family. We’re all behind one another all of the time. I’ve gotten both my friends and family really into them, and their part of the reason that my best friend and I became as close as we did – bound by the love for their music, and the fascination with them.
even my godmother loves them, and is constantly playing the ‘Scream’ album on repeat in her car.

—————

Together we run a NYC Street Team along with Kathey & Alex, who are two of our prime idea-ladies ;) unlike it’s name, the team is for those who can get to NY, such as those in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and any others who are close enough. We’d really love to get it to be official, with a large number of members. We’ll be planning fan gatherings and parties in the city to help promote the band. We have quite a few things in mind to do, and we can’t wait for this team to take off!

if you’re interested in joining, go add us at http://www.myspace.com/434033960

we are working on another site for those who don’t have access to myspace, but it’s still in production :)

Fan Spotlight – Elise91

December 7, 2008

My name is Elise a.k.a tokiofan91 aka elise91. I am from Charlotte, North Carolina and I am a high school senior and I remember the day perfectly when I discovered Tokio Hotel.

It was May 6, 2008 and i had just got home from a long stressful day at school. I decided to turn on the tv and see who would be on TRL that day. When they said that some band named Tokio Hotel was there I was like “cool I guess i’ll watch it”. That is when my life changed. I had seen Ready,Set,Go on mtv a couple of times but for some reason I never really paid that much attention to it. When I saw the guys come walking out and saw Bill so tall and sexy,Tom with his dreads, Georg and his muscles and Gustav just looking so cute and irresistible I thought they were the coolest people ever so i decided to keep watching. The more I heard the more I was slowly falling in love. They were so cute with their accents and they were all nervous it was awesome. Then they performed RSG. I believe that is the exact moment they stole my heart. They sounded like nothing I had ever heard before. That saturday I went and bought the Scream cd and listened to it non stop for about 48 hours. For the next few days and even weeks I found myself on youtube obssesively looking up anything and everything Tokio Hotel. By the end of May my brain only thought about Tokio Hotel. Within the next couple months I had bought their Zimmer 483 cd and dvd and I learned all the german lyrics to their songs. Now I am obssesed as ever and still only think Tokio Hotel thoughts. Even though it has only been 4 months since I discovered them, I am as much of a fan as everyone else. Tokio Hotel’s lyrics really inspire me to live life and to just be me. My only regret is not discovering them sooner.

Spotlight on Creed

August 25, 2008

Hello, my name is B. N. aka Creed and I’m from Orlando, Florida USA. Well it was somewhere around June 2008 that this happened, I was checking up some new bands online and I came across the name Tokio Hotel. I am obsess with Japanese music and their culture so I thought that it was a japanese band so I decided to check them out. I was disappointed but interested in the band so I went to Youtube and checked out their song Scream. Sorry to say but i didn’t like it much. It didn’t catch my attention! It was more the video that disappointed me than the song. I love the thought of the song, the melody, the voice and the guys were all attractive but the video just didn’t do it justice :(

A couple months later I was on Music on Demand and came across Tokio hotel again. I was bored so i decided to watch the video, Monsoon. When i was watching the video, I can’t explain it! The song was so touching and heart felt that I was speechless. Another thing that caught my eye was Bill’s emotion in the video. I can’t say i love him because i don’t know him personally but i will say that the whole month i couldn’t stop thinking about him and i wanted to know more! I scanned the internet for stuff about him and pictures of him and no guy that ive met or seen has ever touch my heart more or whose smile has got me tongue tied than his. I am so not saying that because he is famous or whatever. He is human!

I have respect for Tokio Hotel because they don’t follow the crowd and don’t do what others say to do. They are their own people and are leaders. I hope they keep being them and continue doing what they are doing! But I highly doubt they will stop anytime soon! :) Thanks for giving the fans the chance to write about their story!! That’s really kool!! Have an awesome week!!!!!!!

Spotlight on… Helena

August 1, 2008

Hallo…my name is Helena and i live in the usa in Pennsylvania and I’m in Highschool. Soo my amazing Tokio Hotel love began in December 2007. My sister came back from Germany and had been to their concert and brought back the amazing Schrei cd. (she didnt like them as much as i do).

So I listened to them and fell in love. From the beginning, I thought Bill was the Hottest and my favorite, Tom had the funniest and sexiest personality, Gustav was like a cute little baby, and Georg was a strong, protective man. : )

So, I told some of my friends, with the type of style who would like them, and 4 of them fell in love with them too. then we started our little fanclub in school. everyone of our other friends and schoolmates hated them, but that didn’t stop our love. when they came to Philly..we immediately bought the cd, waited fur immer, and met them!!! I died!!!!!it was the best moment!!!!
so its continued ever since!!!!!!

And now I’m in Germany and got a TH blanket, shoes, magazine, and shirt. I’m missing their concert, but hopefully i will go one day soon!

Tokio Hotel fur immer….ich liebe dich BILL, tom, georg, and gustav!!!

My name is Destiny. I live in Ohio. Most of my friends either listen to rap or to music I hate like the Jonas Brothers. Why do they wear their pants like that?

My auntie is crazy and she kept telling me that I had to check out this band I had to check out this band, so fine I did. At first their pictures. omg Tom is FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE. So now auntie says I am going to marry him. That’s okay with me!

Then she started sending me all their music. My life is really hard, my mom is sick, her boyfriend has stupid kids, but now I am less lonely thanks to Tokio Hotel. They make me be a better person

Spotlight on Annah Banana

July 22, 2008

Ok, it was 2 years ago and I was on www.blackeyedpeas.com.

Because it was 2 years ago, there was only 3 TH fans on there (but there are like 50 now).

They were planning on taking over BEP with TH. So i was like “who is this TH?” and they are like “OMG YOU DONT KNOW WHO THEY ARE!??!?!” and I was like “no”. So they explained and sent me pictures. I fell in love with Tom the minute I saw him.

So I started listenig to their German songs. I fell in love with them. So then I went all physco and started telling everyone at my school about them….

Then I got posters and bought everything i could find.
And now here I am today :)

The first time i saw them, I thought Bill was a girl. I mean, you have to admit, who doesn’t? And I thought Tom was a freak for putting on dreads. But then I was like “Holy crap they’re hot”. Lol, then i listened to them and all that….

Sorry if this sucks. Its pretty late. :)

Fan Spotlight – Schnee

July 20, 2008

I found Tokio Hotel from the livejournal community, ONTD, in January 2007. January 12, 2007 to be exact. ONTD is kind of a celebrity gossip community that leans more toward making fun of people, but I saw this picture.

Tokio Hotel

And I started googling. And I have never gone back. I just got more intrigued and more impressed with every day. I could not believe their lyrics! I know the teens think that the lyrics are written for them, but as one of the dreaded “old fans”, I was touched so much by their lyrics, their story, who they seem to be as people. It was, to me, a feeling I have only ever experienced once before in my life with the Beatles. I am so glad to have it again.

Within one month of finding them, I got their logo tattooed on me because I knew they were going to change my life. They have and I never regret it. I have converted a lot of people and I am SO proud to be their fan.
