I think it is an invasion privacy BUT if you want to be a famous successful artist there is a price to pay and maybe its getting to Bill or whatever but its still a part of his career. I feel for Bill, I truly do but then again I can’t say I wasn’t one of the many fans on here gawking over the new LA pictures. Just my opinion though I don’t want to offend anyone.

They have a right to a private life regardless of being in a very public profession. I think the photos do invade Bill’s privacy and it is reflected in his expressions…Unfortunately the paparazzi do not know or care about boundaries and there aren’t enough laws to keep them back. Case in point…Princess Diana….

This is a tough question! I think that celebrities in general give up a lot of privacy with their chosen profession. Even if they didn’t fully realize what they were getting themselves into. When attending an event, especially with other celebs, there are bound to be paparazzi. Celebs know this, including Bill. Celebs have to promote themselves, especially when they are trying to build an even bigger fanbase! Now, where do you draw the line? Once again, to be known, you need to be seen and heard. I think Bill knew what he was doing. If he wanted to shop privately, he would have gone before or after hours like he said he has done before. That being said, I do think that it is an invasion of privacy to be photographed while doing “personal” things, such as shopping or while on vacation. But celebs know very well that you have to take the good with the bad. Also, what is perceived as bad, may lead to good.
I hated seeing Bill look uncomfortable in those photos, but I also want others to know who he is. It is a double-edged sword.

Good Question:
As a producer…..I would say it’s a fine line. I believe we can all agree that the lack of press in the US is limiting their musical exposure in this country. Bill walking around in LA is a wise decision for his camp to advise him to do. I was pleased to see he got some attention. As for taking pictures while on vacation, that is unnecessary. What they do on their personal time, together or with their families are private moments that we do not need to read about and the paparazzi have no business taking pictures.

i think yes and no yes cause maybe he dose not want to be taken photos like maybe he just watch a night with out people taking photos, but then again the people that take them are stupid! somehtimes just leave people (BILL) alone!
but then we get to c more of him and his sexyness! :P

I really don’t like paparazzi pics when they invade the band’s privacy too much. It’s one thing to have pictures of them at an event or hell, even an event or party with another celebrity. After all, that’s the stuff that gets put in magazines – like when the Kaulitz twins were at one of Lady Gaga’s events, or when they went to the KISS concert. That’s understandable, because the twins are putting themselves into the public arena. I think pictures of him walking around shopping are unacceptable, though. That’s his private time, and that’s a bit ridiculous. As much as I love Bill, I don’t see a point in squeeing over every random picture of him walking down a street. He was just walking down a street like any normal person. He wasn’t at any event that would entail paparazzi pics or media attention.
As far as the DJ FM party or the steakhouse, I understand why pics surfaced, although I don’t agree that pap pics should have been taken in either case. Bill was frequenting popular, well-known places in which paparazzi would surely lurk. It was still an invasion of privacy, but that extent is understandable in a celebrity basis. Now, if pics surfaced of Bill eating out at some tiny diner in a miniscule town in rural Germany, well, then I’d think it’d be going way too far. Honestly, Bill’s not clueless. He knows that when he goes to popular places where celebrities are likely to be, pap pics will be taken of him. So – my opinion in short – I don’t think paparazzi pics are right, but that lifestyle was Bill’s choice, and you can’t really have it both ways.

first of all, if someone is shopping thats just as public as being at a concert and celebs get pics taken of them all the time when theyre out and about doing shopping or out for a walk and second of all its DJ AM not FM!!!!!!!!!!!!

All right, chillax. I get the fact that celebrities get pics taken all the time. I’m just saying that I think it’s an invasion of privacy when Bill isn’t even at an event. I think Bill should have the right to walk down a street without having paparazzi breathing down his neck. I don’t know if you want to see pics of Bill shopping randomly, but I don’t. It seems somewhat pointless. As for celebrities getting pics taken of them all the time when they’re out doing shopping or going for a walk, well, yes. I know that. I don’t think it’s right, though. Being a celebrity doesn’t mean you have to sell your soul.
Now, the concert I can understand. That’s at least more exciting than shopping. It’s still an invasion of privacy, but you can only ask for so much. He’s a celebrity, so of course he’s going to get pics taken if he goes to an event hosted by another celebrity. It’s freaking KISS. Hell, I’d be surprised if they didn’t get pics taken, considering it entails extra media attention. Sorry if you don’t agree.
And oh well. I don’t keep track of DJ names or whatever. Sorry. :|

I honestly think that if Bill didn’t want to be in the spotlight then he would say so and he would really try to avoid the paparazzi. In these pics in LA he doesn’t really look like he’s trying to avoid them, so I don’t really think that it’s an invasion of privacy.

i think it does and dosent invade Bills privacy ,because it dosent because hes outside where anybody in the world can see him including papparazzi. and i think it does because why would the papparazzi care if hes buying clothes, or at a party, or anywhere else. . but it seriously WOULD invade his privacy if he was at home,. so its a debate practiclly so im stuck in the middle

I think it’s an invasion of privacy, but it’s to be expected. As sad as it is, the paparazzi are never going to quit. The part that upsets me is how tired Bill looks in all the pictures. He just looks like he’s done with everything. It’s heartbreaking.

Invasion of privacy, pure and simple.
I don’t buy into this argument that you have to sell your soul when you become famous. Granted, there are some people who do that and court the attention but Bill’s on record as saying he hates paparazzi, even if he might actually regard them as a necessary evil.
Going to a showbiz party? Walking a red carpet? Yes, he’s fair game, it’s a public event and any celeb expects it. Going shopping? Eating out? Walking the dog? NO, not a public event so leave him alone.
The paparazzi only “do their job” to feed our insatiable curiosity and poor impulse control.

Thank you, DND! I started loosing faith a little in fans here after reading that so many of them don’t see anything wrong with paparazzi pics if they are taken in public places… :(((
Just because something is expected doesn’t make it OK… And just because Bill likes being in the center of attention doesn’t mean he likes to be center of attention when he is peacefully shopping.
I am pretty sure he would prefer that attention to be at scheduled events like Red Carpets, Awards, their own concert, TV shows, showbiz party’s maybe and such…
“The paparazzi only “do their job” to feed our insatiable curiosity and poor impulse control” –
Yes, yes, yes!!!

well u shoudl expect all the paparazzi in LA so its not like hes getting any special treatment. I think its complicated to answer because its not like hes the only celebrity getting pictures takin of themselves. But i do agree with most everybody when they say it must be annoyingto be surrounded by photographers. but i like seeing pictures of bill so…..

I am wondering if Bill will be at the Emmy Awards tonight in LA’s Nokia Theatre. It would be cool if he’s one of the presenters.

When I saw the movie Paparazzi I never wanted to buy magazines again.
However they do have a job and I believe Bill has learned to use them to
his advantage. It’s been good exposure in the US market for them to be
talked about if you can call it that. I remember Bill saying that everything
they do has to be preplanned so if it isn’t they know the consequences and
deal with whatever they have to as a result. They are also aware of what
their chosen lifestyle entails and they pay the price unfortunately. So while
it may not necessarily be invasion of privacy I still think it is an invasion of
personal space.
