The 1st time I saw the Monsoon videoclip I thought:
“What an amazing voice of this girl! This song is so cool, sounds so smooth…. wait, is she a boy or a girl? Tokio Hotel? Are they a japanese band?”

I was so suprised to find out that Bill was actually A BOY because he is BEAUTIFUL.
A perfect bishounen, as japanese would say.
I just LOVED the band’s style!

And I was even more suprised to find out that they are a GERMAN band!
The first time I listened to their german version of Durch den Monsun, I fell in love with… german! It sounded so beautiful with Bill, lol.

Ich finde Deutsch eine schöne Sprache <3

omg i hate myself for not being a fan of TH earlier. i became a HUGE fan of tokio hotel when i first saw them perform at the 2009 europe music awards. (i still remember that night). they performed “world behind my wall” i did not know them at all. but i heard Bill sing and i fell in love, and how george was playing the piano with fire on it, how tom was really into his guitar, and gustav working the drums! i was like “WOW” and i recorded the award show because my parents got Tivo and i still have it recorded! it was on a friday. i think it was November 13. and i could say that i’m a loyal fan and this is the longest i’ve ever been a fan of ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!! and i love them! i heard every song of TH and loved it even more!!!!!!!!

I actually knew about them in the year 2007 on Stardoll.com where stardoll post an ad says
“Live Chat with Tokio Hotel on Saturday” at first i saw their animated poster on Stardoll i thought that they’re japanese and their song is all japanese and nothing special. Then (November 2009) 3 days before my birthday my sister told me about Tokio Hotel and showed me their new single “Through the Monsoon” english version,i was so familiar about the name “Tokio Hotel” which reminds me of Stardoll ad about the Live Chat thing. So then,i watched the music video my head was like “its a girl no,no,no its a guy wait its a girl no it cant be he is so attractive” i just said He because he is so cute!! and i asked my sister is it a he or a she? and thank god it is a He so then i told my friend about this and they were arguing over the phone and said “Its a girl”.”No its a guy”,”Girl!”,”Guy”,”Girl!!!”,”Guy i think” and then finally they asked me ” is it a guy or a girl “.My friend was like “Its a guy?”.At first they totally dont like Tokio Hotel after awhile one of my friend heard Automatic and World Behind My Wall couple of time on the radio she started liking them and started listening to their song.At first she was like “They’re gay” and all and mocks them and now they started to like them

I first saw them on TRL. I can’t say that I liked them at first but when Bill opened his mouth it was over. I had to find out who, what, and where on Tokio Hotel. Soon after I feel in love with Tokio Hotel. After a little research I found also everything about them and found the US fan club. I remember voting for the VMA’s and I was so sure that they would win. Every day when I got home from work I voted and voted. Then the day of VMA’s I sat and watched. I remember the moment they won I was sitting on this old chair my grandmother bought for me. When they won..my parents were sleeping..and I screamed so loud..Jumping up and down I broke the chair. Long story short I was glad they won :)

Now it being 2010..I’m still in love with them and they take up half of my iPod.

I first heard Tokio Hotel in my german class in year 8. We were being awesome and the teacher (best teacher ever! ) put a cd (Zimmer 483 live) on for us because we were so good. I didn’t think much of it at the time. I liked it but I wasn’t that into it because I couldn’t understand it. After I heard ‘Monsoon’ on Guitar Hero I became hooked on Tokio Hotel. I bought their cd ‘Scream’ (Big shock coz i’m in australia) and decided I was going to learn the lyrics to ‘Durch Den Monsun’ It took me a week! I got Humanoid as soon as it came out and after that I made my sister a fan. My little brother (he is only a year younger) only recently became a fan after I downloaded the ‘Automatic’ ‘World Behind My Wall’ and Lass Uns Laufen’ videos off iTunes. I’ve been a fan for a year and a half now and I can’t wait for the next 5 years. Happy Birthday TH! =)

So back in March/April 2007, I was on a school trip to Italy; with us was one of my friends who was very much into all these European bands. She decided to show me her fave (TH, obviously) and, upon hearing some of the Schrei album (i honestly didn’t last long), I laughef at the sound of the whiny 12yo girl i heard. Needless to say when my friend told me it was a guy, i just laughed harder. Her efforts to convert me with the image on the t-shirt she was constantly squee-ing over did not work. The picture quality wasn’t good, all i could see was a tiny girly little vampire/emo wannabe, a “boy” (chick, i was convinced) with dreadlocks, some little blonde kid looking entirely too happy to be normal, and some older teen with a naughty smirk looking like the biggest pedo i’ve ever seen (i’m sorry Georg, we really do love you).

So anyway that was all i heard of TH for ages, until October last year, when, whilst shopping with my friend, she all of a sudden goes psycho over some CD (Humanoid…thinking back it really was a serious fangirl scream moment to find Humanoid actually in stores in Australia). I figured, why not, and decided to give them a nother go (if she still loved them after two years she must be onto something).

OH MY GOD what had i been missing?!?!?! I had read a fanfiction about some bood that was based on Don’t Jump a few weeks before, so i started there. From just the 30second preview on iTunes i was hooked and have never looked back, and now am almost as fangirl as my friend.

i think i annoyed her a bit after a while. i was a late fan and googled everything i could. after a whole the “omg did you know this happened” “yeah that was a year ago” conversations must’ve gotten really old. haha

I had a massive fangirl moment when Humnoid City came out. I screamed and nearly knocked over some girl to get to it (I’m sorry!) I was so excited! Now I just need Schrei and Zimmer 483.
      P.S. i’m from Australia too =)
omg I think there is more stuff on iTunes *squee*

i am fully prepared to travel to the east when they finally realise australia exists and they visit; i aint even gonna pretend there is a chance of them ever coming to perth

but oh, my friend is in germany on exchange for this year (so insanely jealous) and we have sent her with around 200 euro shopping money for anything th (or cinema bizzare stuff but that’s irrelevant)

now i just have to wait til january for her to get back

i came across TokioHotel at the 2008 VMAs for the first time. i saw bill when he walked up to accept the trophy n i went breathless… it was love at first sight even if i dint know about ‘em… thn on a moment’s thought i was like “omg! have i turned les****???” bcz i thought Bill was a girl! (sorry if anyone’s mad at this, bt thts the truth!) immediately i searched the net for TokioHotel n read everything tht was there about ‘em… i was of course reassured tht m still a straight gal cz Bill isn’t a girl! i listened 2 every song of theirs tht i could starting with “monsoon” of course… n honestly there r hardly any TH song tht i dint like. n when i started watching THTV n came 2 know ‘em more closely my love 4 them grew stronger n stronger. their honesty, natural, unpretending personae n straight frwrdness r their strongest points. its amazing hw they started at such a young age! they r truly n extremely talented! m a Bill’s girl bt i love Tom, Georg n Gustav no less! TH has brought a freshness in my life! n i cant thank them enough for tht matter… Happy Anniversary TokioHotel!!! n i love u Bill, Tom, Georg n Gustav.

i actually didn’t hear about TH until 2008, and my sister liked them first!! i always heard her playing the CD in our room, and soon enough i knew ‘Monsoon’ pretty well, but never really appreciated it… until, on the way to school last autumn, we were at a gas station, and Monsoon comes out on the radio! everyone putting gas was there to hear it, and listening to it, that’s when i finally realized what a beautiful voice Bill has and what a lovely song it was.
it had taken a while for my eyes (or hears) to finally be opened, but i’m glad they eventually did. During the last year, Tokio Hotel has done soo much for me, personally, emotionally. i thank them for being so amazing, and for those beautiful boys to share their talent with the world! x]

the first song i heard from them was “Rette Mich”. i loved it more than anything…..it was beautiful. Then, i learned about their album release(on the day of the release) and heard “Hey You” and “World Behind My Wall”. after that i looked up every song i could find, and listened to every song i could find.

i heard “Monsoon” and fell in love with it. a while after that, i heard “Durch Den Monsun”, and i thought, ‘it’s not really my type, but man this song is powerful’. When i found out that “Durch Den Monsun” was how it all started for Tokio Hotel, and that “Monsoon” was the English version of that song, “Durch Den Monsun” became something of a sacred song for me…..and every time i hear it, i think, ‘man, this is how it all started…..this is how Tokio Hotel changed the world.’

so, all that’s left to say is…..HAPPY ANNEVERSARY, TOKIO HOTEL!!!!!!!!!!
we couldn’t be more thankful for having you in our lives. <3 <3 <3 <3 (one heart for each of you!)

I remember once meeting a girl from Germany on the internet and her speaking of a band called Tokio Hotel. When I checked out her profile it was layed out all in Tokio Hotel. Haha and I remember thinking to myself, “That’s one decked out girl.” Little did I know it was a male ^.^ This was back in 2008. After that, I never did listen to them much. I thought they were just the same as any other band so I really paid no heed.
Later on that summer of that year, I met my best friend. And to my ironic amazement, she was in LOVE with Tokio Hotel. From then on, I learned everything there is to know about them, especially Bill thanks to her haha, and every song they ever sang. Even to this day i’m still trying to figure more things about them and getting used to being they’re newest fan. At least in my head. And it’s thanks to Tom that I dress more gangster! Lol. Being a female, I’m wearing those flat lids and scarfs and looser t-shirts. It’s crazy haha. And my best friend dresses a lot like Bill. We consider ourselves twins and alikes to them both haha.
But it’s thanks to Tom also, and the band, that I picked up the guitar and perfected it over time. I owe them a lot and I truly value them as people, as friends, as artist, and as celebrities. I truly can say that they’re gifted in music and are special in the way they have been able to keep mine and the millions of fans in the world attention. They keep making music that is impacting and they make it a point to show who they truly are and are a team. Each one of them make Tokio Hotel and if one ever left, they all would. And the way they’ve changed my life is awesome too xD I tend to be a very loyal fan so when I say I’m a huge Britney Spears fan and Tokio Hotel fan, I will continue to be so for many years to come.

    With much love,
    KaulitzTwinT

Since everyone seems to be sharing their story of their discovery of the lovely TH, I will too. So I kept hearing the word Monsoon and Tokyo between my 2 friends and I was like eh whatever. Then my friend kept emailing me about Tom and I was like “Wow are you sure that ‘he’ isn’t a girl?!!” And then she was like “Yes I’m sure!!! Search up his twin BROTHER on google: Bill Kaulit.” So I did that and I was still sure that they were both twin sisters. (I really don’t care if any of you get mad at me for this mistake but whatever). And then I was just like “Blaah…whatever I’ll just look up Monsoon Tokio Hotel (And the weird thing was I was just on youtube listening to random songs and then I was like: must search Monsoon.)”So I watched Monsoon and I was like “Ooh..okay sounds nice” but I kept looking at Bill and I was like “Wow she’s so beautiful *.*” and then I got mad at HIM(finally realized he’s a dude!!) and told my friend how I was mad at Bill for having better nails than me lol. Than I finished the song and loved it and then I saw scream on the side and I loved it too and I was like “This is the band. I hardly like every song in any band but this is…different.” Then I started watching THTV and I was hooked to this day. So glad I gave them a chance!!!

    “THANK YOU for being.”

    I love that. That’s how I feel, too! ♥

For me, I’ve only been in the fandom for less than a year, and so much is still new to me (e.g. this first, yet fifth, wonderful anniversary of “Durch Den Monsun”), and I’m so very thankful for finding them. They are amazing! And today, I feel so happy to be able to celebrate this with you all and for them.

I’ve been trying to remember the first time I heard “Durch den Monsun.” It was I think perhaps November 2009 and it was after I had already found “Monsoon.” (Love!) As I said, a lot TH had come to me fast because I was trying to catch up (and couldn’t get enough!), but I remember being totally floored by the song. Like, “It’s totally ‘Monsoon’”! So, so pretty. In German. It knocked me out that this was “Monsoon”’s origin I was listening to. It was the exact same song. Only in German. I’m still amazed by this.

And by the band, *sigh*. I’m so happy to know them. And to know this gorgeous song of theirs. The one that started them on their path. Their incredible path up to this point, with so much more to go. Absolutely no limits!!

So that’s my memory. And to close, I guess just… Happy Anniversary, Tokio Hotel. Congratulations on all your successes and all to come!!

“Durch den Monsun”!! My heart. ♥

    im ashamed :/
the first time I saw durch den monsun.. i kinda blew it off. I was on youtube and came across it on one of my many germany or tokyo searches.. I seriously can’t remember. I watched and listened to it and I thought ‘hey they’re ok even if it’s not my type if music, but they’re so little i wonder if they’re like 9?’ *_* When scream came out my sister had some of their songs in her ipod and she liked their music a lot but hadn’t done much research on the band itself.
One day while I was home and all depressed.. I can’t remember exactly why.. but I was feeling so emo ;p I was on youtube and came across monsoon. And that was it.. Monsoon did it I was completely devout to them lmao. Later on we found out my sister’s favorite band was also my new favorite band..
yeah that’s how I became a fan.. I know it wasn’t what I was supposed to talk about.. but I felt eeky just writting about how i just blew off durch den monsun ;p

everyone went into specifics lol.. so umma do the same.. when I caw monsoon on youtube.. i wasn’t really paying attention to the screen.. but I was listening to the song.. && i swear my heart did a little weird pound. That voice was beautiful and the voice was amazing. im so serious though I know I sound crazy *_* So then I looked up and saw bill.. and I was like omg! She’s beautiful in a weird way.. she’s wow.. and I was convinved I had to be bi. So I went on a crazy google and youtube search, only convincing me more that I had to have a talk with my parents.. that smile.. *melts. and after a couple minutes I started to read the ‘he’s a boy! who in their right mind would name a girl Bill?!’ and I was like oh.. a boy? … but I have a a friend that’s a girl named billy.. hmmm so I decided to look through youtube for pictures that proved he was a man.. and I found my proof :) and ever since that day almost 2 yrs ago.. or more.. or less.. i have a bad memory :l anyways.. I get online to catch up on tokio news and stare at the boys for a bit. I’m 19 and i’m obsessed over a band and I have never been a diehard fan before for anyone.. which sounds crazy but they make me happy… yay. My dad would usually just laugh at me.. but he totally supports my obsession. he has th in his own ipod haha.. and he took me to sooo many stores to find both humanoid and humanoid city live when they came out. I live in Vegas and he drove me to Henderson to find humanoid city live. We searched for 3 days X_X and finally found it. He was helping me go to mexico when the rumors were going on that they’d be doing concerts there this summer. He’s awesome :D He makes fun of bill.. but he also respects him for being himself and has never dared to call him gay. My mom thinks he’s gorgeous and my brother just accepts them.. my sister is still a big fan with me yay. my friends make fun of bill sooo much and call him gay and all that. but when it really comes to it.. i think they’re secret fans.. you guys should’ve seen them when I told them the boys wanted to come back to vegas for their 21st bday. haha
on a more serious side.. I want to thank them.. even though they don’t know me and I might never get to really know them. I love them because as many of you said before they have saved me soo many times. I found them when I was in a time of need and I do believe everything happens for a reason. with my family, friends and th i stopped cutting about 2 years ago.. and only messed up once during those 2 yrs. I also left my boyfriend.. because bill gave me hope that there are better guys out there. Before I had never really believed that because all of my boyfriends and friend’s boyfriends had all been.. not nice. We went through things teenagers shouldn’t have to go through. and now I know my crazy ‘meant to be, love at first sight’ ideas aren’t so crazy because there’s people that also believe them. I have so much to thank them for and the least I could do is support them by being a huge fan :)
I think the reason my parents support this is becuase they see how happy they make me and how different they are. (i have made them watch interviews with me:D) my friends like them but don’t understand why i’m so obsessed.. but the reason is they give me hope :) simple .. lol i got emotional writting this. thankyou guys for sharing my crazy ( i dont meant stalker crazy btw i mean over-excited fan crazy)

The first time I heard of Tokio Hotel was on You Tube in 2008. lol I was looking up this video of Michael Jackson. Because I was obsessed at that time with MJ. And I heard their song “Scream” in the video I was watching, I liked it and I wanted to know who this band was. So I looked on the side bar and saw this person with big hair and not to mention makeup. (who I thought was a girl in the mean time). So I clicked on one of the videos on the side and I heard Bill’s voice and he sounded like a guy so I got really scared because I didn’t know if it was a guy or girl. Then as months went by I was searching for stuff on Comcast and I saw Tokio Hotel’s video “Monsoon” and “Ready Set Go”. So I watched the Monsoon video and I loved it so much! Because of Bill’s voice, the rhythm, the tune, plus the lyrics. And soon or later I showed my cousin the band that I was soon to be loving and we watched this interview about them and that’s when Tom Kaulitz caught my eye haha! But anyways. I went to Target and I was going to buy something else in the store, but as I was looking in the music section and once again Tokio Hotel caught up with me in the store. So I decided to buy there Scream CD instead of what I came for. lol So I came back and I showed my brother. And he was all making in fun of me because they looked gay and such. And to believe it or not he likes Tokio Hotel now haha! I listened to there CD and started liking there songs on the So that’s how I met Tokio Hotel. And many of my friends love them now because I showed them who they were! ^^ Happy 5th Durch Den Monsun Anniversary Tokio Hotel! Much Love to all the fans that could make these 5 years happen to them!

I saw Tokio Hotel on the 2008 VMA’s but didn’t really think much about it. Then in December my friends and I were talking in history class when one of them told me that I should look up Monsoon by Tokio Hotel. That same day I went home, typed it in on youtube, and fell in love with them instantly. I spent the rest of the day looking up videos and pictures and websites on the guys and I’ve thought about the boys every day since then. This past year one of my best friends gave me a Tokio Hotel poster for Christmas, I almost died. My mom gave me Humanoid as a present and I listened to it probably about 5 times before me and my family went out that day, and last year I randomly found Scream at a store and I forced my mom to let me have it. I’m so happy for the guys and how successful they’ve become and I’m proud to be a Tokio Hotel fan!!!!<3
