Spin or Bin Review of Singfest

Tagged With: , ,

Spin or Bin really gave Tokio Hotel some great promo when they were there! They also attended the concert and here is a highlight from their review:

The crowd went wild as the opening techno beats rang out Tokio Hotel’s opening number, the energetic Noise. And that set the tone for the next 1-hour of their performance. As much as I am ambivalent to most of their music, they are a very, very tight band with their guitars, bass and drums fully audible and played without a single hitch. Barely into their twenties, the German pop rock band displayed incredible showmanship which proved how long Bill Kaulitz and gang have been playing together and demonstrated a caliber that even converted a hardened skeptic like me.

For fans out there who keeps whining about how the boys seem to change and everything, this is what it means, okay? They’re trying to prove that they can be real rockstars, not just 4 boys trying to rock only relying on popularity among 12 year old girls. And I can say they did a real good job. Still a long way to go before people really appreciate their music though, but however long it takes, I’ll wait. I know they’ll make it.

From what I heard from my mom (she’s a TH fan) TH is really exposed to Asian fans and asian TV as well. My mom is in SIngapore right now, working and she said that her friends that went to the singfest were skeptical about TH at first but when they played the opening song, my mom’s friends started to buy their album.

Reviews like this make my day =) It’s one thing when fans enjoy their performances, but when a non-fan is out there praising the band, that’s what feels the best to me. So many people breeze past Tokio Hotel without a thought, but rarely have I seen people who’ve given the band a chance say they don’t like them. The guys just keep getting better!

Gosh, idk about anyone else but keep forgetting that they’ve been a band for a good 6-7 years now. So when i hear people say “they’ve been playing for soooo long together” i get all “wtf 3 years isnt THAT much” and then i remember that they formed a loooong time ago, when they were like 15. lol i keep forgetting the “schrei” album and how that was their first, not “Scream”. Idk it just seems kinda eye opening to me, every time i think a bout it. To me their still a fresh new band, and i guess they always will.

They are together for almost 10 years, actually… They were signed when twins were 13 years old but they played together couple of years before that!!! :))
