Tokio Hotel’s Performance Outfits… what happens when Bill Kaulitz’s jacket comes off?
Tokio Hotel performed at the MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia on Saturday night, and frontman Bill Kaulitz hit the stage wearing one of his costumes from the band’s Humanoid Tour, which concluded earlier this year. The whole look was designed by Dean and Dan Caten of Dsquared2, and Kaulitz called it “fantastic” in a backstage interview after the show. And it was pretty fantastic.
The outfit included a jacket with large spikes on the sleeve that added inches of height to his shoulders, fingerless gloves, and lace-up pants (pants that he also modeled on the Dsquared2 men’s fashion runway back in January). But when the jacket came off, it was different story! Not only did his shoulders return to regular size, but underneath his jacket he wore a leather tank — MORE LEATHER! — and an elaborate chain necklace that had smaller chains within it (see close-up below). Quite the look, don’t you think?

Too me it doesn’t matter if he wears a jacket or not or his hair is short or long or his clothes are leather or not it really doesn’t even matter…He is still Bill. Just he changed his appearance but that doesn’t bother me. He will always be Bill and that is what counts. If you know what I mean…. :]

Better off! I love Bill, but I’m not a big fan of his Humanoid outfits…don’t hate me! :( I miss his old jackets, you know what I mean? but Bill is Bill :)

personial it looks more comfterpial with the jacket off and idk if you guys know but it is HOT in malshia so he might not want to where a jacket. but whatever makes him happy. jacket no jacket dosent matter awesome songs ALWAYS so like tokio hotel for that not just cuz they have faces like angels. if you miss the days in jeans and t-shirts… thats ok i wish i could see them perform both ways but i dont think it matters bill will sound the same in a t-shit and he would in a humanoid jacket. but i was not around when they were in t shirts and jeans. i jumped on the fan wagon to late!

personally….i prefer the jacket off.
he looks good with it on…but i think it’s just a little too much.
i miss the days where he came on in jeans, a t-shirt, and a simple jacket….

I don’t care what he wears (or does not wear ;) ) bcuz I’d know he’d be sexy in it. Just as long as he likes wearing it. I LOVE BILL! (but not as much as I love Gustav)

I don’t know why, but i feel Bill might be getting too caught up in the Rock Star mindset. He’s just changed soooo much. I just hope he doesn’t slip away from the sweet Bill that i know and love so much.

What i mean is that he doesn’t seem to be as light spirited as he used to. Maybe it’s not the rockstar mindset, i guess i feel more that something’s bothering him. Idk. I just really hope he doesn’t change from the Bill I see, at least, you know?

I liked Bill better when he had the big hair, and he wore the jeans and tshirts. But, I think it looks better without the jacket, I just dont like that its leather.

Didn’t Bill say that his costumes were made from synthetic leather? I seem to remember him talking about that during a behind-the-scenes costume fitting kind of thing.

I actually prefer the jacket on for these, but I must say that I miss the T-shirt and jeans days. I love the designer’s work, though. I love odd stuff like that! But I’d still rather see Bill more often in his usual.

The jacket with the massive shoulder/sleeve spikes works better with Bill’s yummy skinny leather trousers and wicked boots, imfo (f=fashion).
But you know, it’s very hot in Malaysia, so if Bill wanted to take it all off and perform naked as he has said he wants to so badly, far be it for me to stop him…! ;)
