I’m ready to heal, I’m ready to feel…

November 1, 2009 by Schnee

Polydor France is saying that World Behind my Wall/Lass uns Laufen is the next single. Still a rumor, but… really, with Humanoid being as good as it is, all the songs would make amazing singles!

Lyrics. LOVE this German/German Translation/English comparison.

It’s raining today
The blinds are shut
It’s always the same
I tried all the games that they play
But they made me insane
Life on TV
It’s random
It means nothing to me
I’m writing down
What I cannot see
Wanna wake up in a dream

Oh
They’re telling me
It’s beautiful
I believe them
But will I ever know
The world behind my wall
Oh
The sun will shine
Like never before
One day I will be
Ready to go
See the world behind my wall

Trains in the sky
Are traveling
Through fragments of time
They’re taking me to parts
Of my mind
That no one can find

I’m ready to fall
I’m ready to crawl
On my knees to know it all
I’m ready to heal
I’m ready to feel

… Take me there!

Maybe I am behind and you all know this already, but if you go to http://www.lyricstranslate.com they have literal German to English translation of a lot of TH songs.

I just never compared them before word for word and thought this was neat!

But I really wish they would use a direct translation, I feel like some of the meaning is lost in the English version… World Behind My Wall is a great song, but it’s almost completely different from Lass Uns Laufen. Same tune, completely different meaning. Idk, I liked it when they did direct translation better.

That is funny, because in my case it’s opposite. I was not in love with the Scream’s word for word versions of the songs. Besides Monsoon, RSG, Don’t jump, 1000 oceans and Scream. It just did not work for me as well as german songs. And Humanoid production is perfect in this sense this time. English versions are as great as German ones. IMHO :) Actually, it is the first time that I am mostly listening the english version.

I think it’s so cool because it’s like we get 2 songs in one. They are so very talented. I’m finding this out more with each album.

I agree w/ the fact that the German lyrics, (original ones Bill writes) are 10x more beautiful than the english ones production helps translate, I feel like production distorts them a bit sometimes, like in Zoom Into Me, I noticed that a lot of the lyrics when directly translated from german, made perfect sense! and yet they went ahead and changed words. I love TH, im not bashing on them, rather, Im against production, I feel like theyre not doing a great job of preserving the essence of the lyrics TH originally writes :(

Just because words are simple doesn’t mean that they are not deep. English version is beautiful. The words maybe simple, but they are touching my soul. German lyric is beautiful also, just in the different way.

i think this english translation is one of the best. i prefer him saying “take me there” over “let us run”

Oh, I don’t dislike the english versions, not at all, I just feel like the german versions are more TH than the english ones in the sense that the english ones are more of productions version of the German ones. The english ones are great don’t get me wrong, but some are just about an entirely diff song

It will definently make a GREAT music video! *eek* I hope this is the next song they’ll make a music video out of. It’ll be magical & wonderful….we’ll all fall to our knees when we watch.

I’d hoped that was going to be their next single :D

And I think I might like the German version better.

I mean, they both have SOOOO much meaning in them, but to me Lass uns Laufen.. It just hits me a little harder than World Behind My Wall does. Know what I mean?

“I don’t know what will come
    I don’t know what was
    I know only
That you are no longer here
    The wind wakes me up
    I realize I’m running

    How deep is too deep
    How far is too far
    Where is the beginning
    And the end of time
    Give me a reason/meaning
    Please bring me there

    Let us run”

That just seems to mean a little more (maybe only to me) than World Behind My Wall does. They seem almost completely different, but then again, when you’re looking at them both side by side they still both seem to be pretty similar. Anyway, didn’t mean to write a book sorry! :)

omg me too!! i LOVE geisterfahrer, and when comparing the direct translation to the english version, soo much feeling was lost! And they could have deff kept the original one to one translation, just rearranged the words and found some synonyms, but not change the meaning almost entirely!!

It’s true that the songs are very different with the new album. You should look up the Hey You vs Hey Du translation. They’re two TOTALLY different subjects.

Yeah like the first line of Hey Du is “Hey Du kleine Android” which means “Hey you little android” and the english is “Hey you we can turn it up” ._.

yeah and then noise and komm are also completely different hehehe just felt i needed to point that out. but the one i’m most mad about is forever now/fur immer jetzt because ther german version is just so much more beautiful and meaningful to me…oh well love them both. and it’s almost like we’re getting two defferent awesome amazing songs with the same album so i’m really not trying to complain
