Okay, we cannot hide ourselves any longer. We love finding out every single detail we can about the pants, the caps, the instruments, the sunglasses. So of course, when Automatic came out, the hunt for the details about the muscle cars used in the video began. After much debate, we have narrowed it down to these.
And YES, we have an entire thread at the fanclub devoted to the cars in the video.
Bill – Mustang Fastback
Tom – GTO
Georg – Camaro
Gustav – Nova (we think)
And Tom is the only one whose car has fuzzy dice.
Is that what you guys see?

Not sure where everyone thinks Tom is driving a GTO (or a Charger…really? Dodge? Chevy to Dodge…wow). If you look at the close up of Tom, when you can see the gods aweful dice, you will notice that the hood has the large “bump”. That’s the hood that the Chevrolet Nova had. Gustav was driving the Pontiac GTO (I’d like to note, as a Pontiac driver and a lover of Chargers, they have very different body lines, so not sure where that came from). Gustav has even said he drove the GTO. Georg is driving a Camero (sadly, not a Yenko). Bill is driving a Ford Mustang Fastback. It is not a Shelby (and definitely not Eleanor who was a ’67 Shelby GT 500). All four cars are standard models, none of the rarer or fancy models (would’ve loved to have seen that Nova as an SS with a real SS hood on it), and pretty standard to see out on the roads in the US. Awesome American Muscle (except for Ford…I mean Ford is Ford) – rarer would’ve been a treat. Especially specialized.

I thought one of them were driving a Dodge Charger? I asked my mom’s boyfriend (he’s the car expert lol) and he said one was a Dodge Charger. Maybe that’s what you guys think the Nova is?

I’m not positive, but I thought I’d put this out there. I think Bill’s is a Ford Shelby GT, like the car in the movie Gone in 60 Seconds (Eleanor). Tom’s not in the GTO, I think that might be Gustav. And Tom’s car looks like a Dodge Charger. Like I said, I could be wrong. It’s kinda hard to tell going only by the looks… Except, of course, the one that actually says “GTO” on the grill, lol. I’m fairly certain that none of the boys are in a Nova. Either way, it’s a hot video, and I’m so glad they used American muscle!

All I remember is that Tom’s card stood out because it was orange, and I definitely noticed the fuzzy dice–and who doesn’t like fuzzy dice! lol
I always liked mustangs so bill’s car looked cool to me. But I’m not really a car person. What I liked were the racing shots from overhead, it was like the camera was racing with them to get ahead, and then when some of them were weaving in and out in a line with the sand leaving a trail behind, gahh the video cinematography is just fantastic!!

My first car was a ’68 Camero…I paid $450 for it, and my boyfriend put side pipes and headers on it. It had a scoop hood and a CB (that’s what we used before cell phones, kids)! Ahhh…memories
