A night of madness – July 14, 2008

Ten thousand fans wild with applause for Tokio Hotel Saturday in Geneva. No injuries but many fainting. The singer Tokio Hotel, Bill Kaulitz, is the favorite of young audiences who invaded Arena.

Icon of rock juvenile, the German group Tokio Hotel occurred Saturday evening in Geneva. The quartet has played 90 minutes before 10 000 delirious fans, mostly teenage girls. There were no injuries but 375 fainting.

“Some 90 people have vanished even before the doors open Saturday,” said the organizer of the concert Michael Drieberg. “They felt such pressure … the emotional health staff took care of all these people, handing them up. Many have returned to the room then. I am pleased that there were no injuries and no evacuation. We had a clinic with 60 beds and three ambulances. ”
Suffocating heat

Some fans have camped for several days before the Arena to be safe to be at the forefront. From 15 hours, almost all the public was already at the gates of the building. In the courtroom, the air quickly becomes suffocating. While the parterre, 6000 people hurrying to the scene, the balcony much trépignent children, accompanied by their parents.

From a sudden, the lights go out and a rising clamour. The hall is more enlightened than the glow of thousands of mobile phones. The screams intensified since the emergence of young Germans.
Smile disarming

Shortly after, the singer Bill Kaulitz removes his jacket and trousers with a t-shirt and red. Behind him, on a screen, scroll including images of clouds. After three songs, it apostrophe the public: “Wie geht’s euch?” (How are you?). In response, teddy bears are raining on the scene. The entire evening, the group has visibly taken pleasure to play. Their well-functioning performance left little room for improvisation. The contrast was quite surprising between the dark and look very makeup studied Bill Kaulitz and his smile disarming naturalness. He still seemed surprised at the success of his group. “This is what we could get better,” said Bill in substance. “Travel and be in all cities. Thank you. ”
Faces lit

The fans have regularly intoned the words with the singer. Towards the end of the concert, Tokio Hotel has issued “Durch den Monsun” (Through the monsoon) title with which he drilled in 2005. The group took leave of his fans with “An deiner Seite” (In your side).

At the end of the room, the faces were illuminated. Several spectators already visionnaient photos taken during which they will long for an event.

The concert was going to sell out. Originally scheduled for March 21, he had to be postponed because of a vocal cord singer Bill Kaulitz.

    @ 3… omg

@ 22 and 23: YEAH. for reals. I would go through a mafia initiation if I knew Bill would pull me backstage – like, that’s awful that the girl was hurt but seriously, people in the world get beat up and injured all the time without the awesome outcome of Bill seeing it as the full extent of their love and comforting them backstage. unreal

@3… i would totally get a bloody nose if i knew i would be pulled backstage!!
we are kinda lucky that it hasnt got to that point here in the US yet (but who knows what will happen between now and the end of summer), and i like our concerts here because you are so much closer to the band- i mean, with 10,000 fans, you wont even be able to SEE bill, tom, georg and gustav unless youre waaaaaay in the front

Well yeah ! I was there since 8 in the morning (I was just in front of the doors with nearly 200 other girls), and I can say : it’s kinda scary to see all these girls faint. The girls were completly MAD ! 1h30 before the doors opened, they were already pushing around, screaming and all. The staff couldn’t do anything ! They told us to give some air to the people that were in the middle of the crowd because they couldn’t even breath but the girls wouldn’t listen to them. It was pretty dangerous ! And it was even worse in the venue : the Arena is for 8 500 people and we were 10 000 ! It certainly was really really hot and people couldn’t move ! I couldn’t move ! ^^ but the concert was the BEST ever ! the guys are such rockstars ! With sunglasses, smiles, Bill singing like god and people singing (or more like screaming) along ! The best concert of my life ! I’ll be waiting for their comeback in Europe ! Enjoy the shows in America because these guys are soooooooo worth all the waiting in front of the venue ! I love them !! :D

Wow I was there and I saw all the medical people pulling girls out from the front row but I thought 100 fainted and that already seemed like so many. But then I heard that in some other city it was 800. 800!!! The newspaper on July 13th said TH concerts are known for having over 100 girls fainting in the front row. Sigh. That just crushed my hopes.
Oh well good concert it was! ^^

    What a great review!
Especially I liked this part: “The contrast was quite surprising between the dark and look very makeup studied Bill Kaulitz and his smile disarming naturalness. He still seemed surprised at the success of his group.”
That’s exactly what I always think about Bill when I see him on the stage. He’s just amazing.

Wow what TH can do to teenagers :d..I saw many girls faint at the concert in Werchter Boutique even before TH came on that’s the worst thing! and at the entrance when the gate opened it got so wild that I saw a girl with a bloody nose and stuff, half of her face was covered in blood :s it was so sick I am black and blue all over my body but what happened to that girl is so devestating.. lucky for her Bill heard of it and called her backstage! that’s so sweet
