Right if it is special session for one band (remember Trabendo?). But take for example TV show that is recorded earlier and has few performers. Recording it with playbacks takes hours, now imagine if they add soundcheck for each performer. It would take whole day to record 1 hour show. TV studios can’t afford that, they need to record much more then that.

i don’t think it’s true, most times i hear bands in TV shows they play live, especially in those that are focused on music

TV shows in Europe = playback most of the time.
